BMI is junk science”
That may be that isn’t what to focus on. The AMA called it racist. So the woke cancer has taken the AMA. Another one gone.
Well the BMI was created to be able to write people off as “beyond help”. That was a hobby of early 19th century science, finding a scientific explanation for why some people aren’t worth caring about. Phrenology comes from the same school. This is why the BMI doesn’t differentiate between fat and muscle. Big people are big people, whether “muscle bound dolts” or “lazy fatsos” doesn’t really matter. Their BMI is above X therefore they are worthless. And some races are more likely to have a large BMI than others.
So, really, saying the BMI is racist isn’t far from the truth. And getting rid of it is a very good thing.
