McCarthy said Wednesday evening that the House will refer Boebert’s impeachment resolution to the Homeland Security Committee, confirming CNN’s earlier reporting on that approach. There will be a rule vote on the floor to make the referral to committee, allowing Republicans to diffuse the politically thorny issue for now, though internal party tension over the issue was on display for much of Wednesday.
Asked about the strategy to send the resolution to committee, McCarthy told CNN: “I think that’s best for everybody.”
“What majority do we want to be,” McCarthy asked his conference, according to a source in the room “Give it right back in two years or hold it for a decade and make real change?”

McCarthy hopes with all these delays he can get Joe to the Election Season, and he’ll use that as an excuse to Protect Joe.
This is why he didn’t hold Wray in Contempt - and now he’s guaranteed to see redacted, complicated records in a SCIF for six minutes, and the Staff Lawyers are not allowed to View the Records.
He’s doing what the FBi and DoJ did, make a bunch of small delays add up to sidetrack Investigations.
If the bring Impeachment, that brings Lawyers, Investigators, and a Budget along with it. Subpoenas have never been denied under Impeachment.

I just read something buried in an article and they don’t have the GOP Votes to impeach any of the unpopular members of the Cabinet that they’ve publicly discussed impeaching.

Well, exactly when does McCarthy THINK would be a good time for impeachment? How much harm, crime, and corruption does he think our nation can stand before we put a stop to it?
Open borders? Not yet.
Illegally suspending debt owed to our nation? Not yet.
Drugs coming in killing our youth? Not yet.
Looking to jail your political opponent? Not yet.
Evidence of bribery and corruption by the President and his family? Nope not yet.
Exactly what would be a “bridge too far” for McCarthy? Is he waiting until after the 2024 election to make a move?
