On Thursday, the Senate failed to pass a resolution to block the AR-pistol stabilizer brace rule after Sens. Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Jon Tester (D-MT) sided with the ATF instead of their red state constituents.
The Senate voted against blocking the ATF rule by a vote of 50-49.
Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ) joined Manchin and Tester in voting against blocking the rule.
Breitbart News reported that the ATF’s stabilizer brace rule was published in the Federal Registry January 31, 2023.
The ATF noted:
This rule is effective the date it is published in the Federal Register. Any weapons with “stabilizing braces” or similar attachments that constitute rifles under the NFA must be registered no later than 120 days after date of publication in the Federal Register; or the short barrel removed and a 16-inch or longer rifle barrel attached to the firearm; or permanently remove and dispose of, or alter, the “stabilizing brace” such that it cannot be reattached; or the firearm is turned in to your local ATF office. Or the firearm is destroyed.

I don’t think he wants to retire. He wants to win again he just knows he’s like to be retired. If he wanted to retire he would have voted with his conscience more and his party less. Of course, his conscience seems to be about winning. His votes on the green inflation junk was strong-arm politics; he probably cut a deal with the party and Schumer will likely throw some extra money his to try to help him keep the seat. But he should have known they would double cross him.

Brain-Damage Biden was going to veto this anyway, if it had passed and had gotten to his desk. But WV and MT voters, take note. Your Senators are backstabbing scum, utterly untrustworthy where your Second Amendment rights are concerned. Vote accordingly.
I’m voting for Alex Mooney in the primary, and whichever of Alex Mooney of Jim Justice is the nominee in the general.

Manchin is done. No Independent Presidential run for him.
I only takes one unelected official to make a law. And many hundreds of elected official to undo it. Strangely, most conservatives are OK with that. Which makes me wonder what the point is with discussing things in a conservative group.
Tester is a pig. Nobody gets a belly like his unless they are a hard core alcoholic. I get mailings from him pretending that he is a populist. He is lying commiecrat scum.
The only thing worse than having a democrat for a Senator is two count em two RINO Republican Senators stabbing you in the back on a daily basis on nearly every vote.
If that statement is a slight exaggeration, it isn’t far off.

And I’m sure Manchin knew that. So, he added another black mark against his name for no reason.
One suspects that he might plan to run as an indie.
That way, he can swipe votes from the GOP nom and ensure a Dem (unlikely Biden, IMO) win, a la the uber weasel Perot .
Tester knows the GOP will put a 2nd tier opponent against him. Mancin doesn’t care because even if Justice wins he’s still a rino. Pass the baton.
Does anyone know a source for those braces that president Joe told us about?
The ones that let a pistol fire a larger caliber bullet?
