Yup.

The alternative is what would have been HORRIBLE. Sitting cross-legged for 3 days with no toilet all while gradually running out of oxygen. That would have been unimaginably horrible.

Yup. And add in, existing in total darkness while freezing cold seeps the heat from your bones.

Likely all the good snacks gone in the first hours, leaving mostly the rye chips and wasabi peas from the pub mix.

If it had not been an implosion, they would have died of hypothermia within a few hours of losing power.

I know this is morbid but I wonder how the human body would look like when exposed to a sudden pressure change from cabin pressure to pressure at that depth.
