Very Unwise of Joe to insult the Chinese ruler. He will lose face in Asia. Is Xi a dictator, yes, but rubbing his face in it isn’t cool. He didn’t just call him a dictator but an incompetent one as well. That’s got to hurt. China helped get rid of Trump, they can do the same to Biden, Hunter and the whole crowd.
But it is OK to call Putin a war criminal? Xi is a dictator. China has seized Tibet, violated the agreement with the UK and taken control over Hong Kong earlier than agreed upon, and mistreated the Uyghurs. And the Wuhan virus has killed over a million Americans plus fentanyl from China kills 100,000 Americans annually.
I agree Biden committed a diplomatic faux pas with Xi that could make any negotiations with China more problematic, but it is striking and telling that you are concerned about insulting Xi because of China’s power over us.
We have a compromised President Biden who calls China a competitor, not an adversary, and excuses the use of a spy balloon as being unintentional and off course. Moreover, Biden claims that Xi was not even aware of the balloon.
Blinken goes to Beijing and kowtows to Xi like a supplicant. He throws Taiwan under the bus and stresses the US does not want to decouple from China. We have record trade deficits with China and are dependent upon them for a wide range of manufactured items, including drugs.
Our political, corporate, and academic elites have been “captured” by China. Elon Musk, Bill Gates, and Jamie Dimon preceded Blinken’s visit to China also meeting with Xi recently. A coincidence? I think not. We are truly screwed.
On the contrary, calling Xi a dictator will and has pleased the leaders of Japan, South Korea, India, Philippines, Vietnam, Mongolia, etc.
China has no allies, leave alone friends, in Asia, just a vassal state in North Korea.
My worry is the “whole crowd” will include half of the country.
