...and the thing is, the EVs COULD have been designed to carry their own cables, and plug directly into the charging stands (just as RVs do at campgrounds). But the wanted to give the Virtue Signalers the feeling that they were at a gas pump, hence the exposed cables.
“EVs COULD have been designed to carry their own cables, and plug directly into the charging stands...”
Great point, I never thought about that.
Reason #237 I’ll nevown one.
And the EV manufacturers will just put them somewhere easy to steal off the car like catalytic converters! lol
They could but theres a lot more space for cables in an RV than an EV. Level 3 chargers have heavy thick cables. Most RVs don’t even use level 3 sized cables to plug in. And most EVs are already carrying a smaller emergency level 1 cable and charger around all the time in case of trouble.
True - and totally avoidable by any designers who pay attention to how things work in the real world. The so-called "chargers" are really just smart switches that turn the power on only when they sense a safe connection to an EV with its own built-in charger. IOW, these charging stations are nearly the perfect copper theft targets.
So true😆
