As far as I know, that was decided upon as constitutional by the state supreme court, and SCOTUS refused to hear the case.

So... Yeah. Modern sporting rifles are banned for sale. Any already in the state must be registered with the state police, as do any handguns which can take mags that hold more than ten rounds, because those magazines are now illegal.

Fvck this state.

Multiple cases have been consolidated in both state and federal court system. The state supreme court has the case now awaiting decision. (Three guesses how that will go.) Federally, at least 2 district courts have diametrically opposed opinions and a lone 7th circuit appeals court judgette refused an injunction so now I believe it is going to an enbanc circuit court. Supreme court justice Barrett refused injunction while lower court proceedings are under way.

In summary, a waiting game with things looking bleak at state level but much, much better at 7th (mostly repub appointees) and excellent at SCOTUS. Stay tuned.
