Trump joined my party, the Republican Party, after many decades of being a Democrat, an Independent, and a member of the Reform Party. Not that I or anybody else own the Republican Party. It’s a membership-based party.

No, I did not like his childish behavior during the primaries of 2016; but, I supported him once he was the party’s titular nominee. This included max’ing out during the general election in terms of financial support.

There wasn’t a primary contest in 2020, and I supported him again. Similarly max’ing out. This is what party members do. They back the nominees of the party.

I am also a veteran and, no, I did not like his treatment of John McCain in 2016. Questioning whether McCain was a hero, and saying he (Trump) prefers soldiers who win. And to think, Trump avoided service during the Viet Nam war.

Now Trump calls another veteran, “DeSanctimonious” and “meatball,” and questions the size of his penis. If there’s something to which I am more loyal than the Republican Party, it is our country and our veterans.

Trump called Mitch McConnell a “dumb son of a bitch.” That guy, McConnell, held up Obama’s judicial nominees during 2015-2016, and got almost all of Trump’s nominees through even though we were operating with a slim majority in the Senate. But, Trump called McConnell a “dump son of a bitch” (and other choice epithets).

Now, Trump doesn’t like the way twenty House members voted regarding Shiff, and he calls for them to be primaried. Of the twenty, I figure one of them - the one who voted to impeach Trump - won’t be backing him in next year’s primaries. Now maybe a few more will think twice before supporting Trump.

Am I calling Trump names? I have toyed with that idea. But, I think that’s a loser’s game. It didn’t help Li’l Marco or Lyin’ Ted back in 2016. I think we should simply admit that Donald Trump is one of the greatest name-callers in history.

But you say I’m doing the same thing that Trump is doing, by pointing out things that make Trump look like a child having a temper tantrum. To you, this is like I’m being a name-caller. Actually, this what I decided to do. Instead of saying Trump is a jerk, I’ll say Trump is doing XY and Z, and if that makes Trump look like a jerk, so be it.

I will close with the following: when a person has repented of a sin, it is bad form to bring that sin up. But, I really doubt Trump is going to change. His eldest daughter and her husband have distanced themselves from him, and that didn’t register with him. His lawyer advised him to settle with the National Archives and be done with matter of the secret documents. But, no, Trump didn’t listen to his lawyer (and now has a new lawyer). People tend to become set in their ways as they get old, and Trump is 77.

Such a blatant example of an arrogant EVIL homosexual...by all rights he should be culled for the benefit of all. As DEVO clearly stated in 1978 “They say the fittest shall survive / Yet the UNFIT may live ? wearing gaudy colors ? or avoid display” DEVO = De-evolution. For this blatant mutant to sit and chair anything is a crime. This person is an animal at every level. Satan sure knows how to subjugate .

There is an excuse every single week to pass Biden’s agenda, too.

There are Republicans that Voted against the Censure that said it had nothing to do with the fine. They are on-record.

It’s also counter-intuitive to grab the Constitutional excuse when Schiff was ignoring the fourth amendment by doing searches without Warrants, something he has said he will do again.

Knowing the perpetual betrayal of these vermin, I believe their goal is to allow Schiff to operate with impunity.

Simpson is a POS. He makes up film flam statements on how he opposes Shiff, but votes the opposite.

True, this.

I'll contact (respectfully and calmly, of course) his office and ask for an explanation.

I doubt that it will be straightforward.

Idaho District 2 needs a new Rep.

And, one suspects that Idaho Dist 2 Citizens will not remember Mister Simpson as either a Republican or a Representative.

Simpson. Idaho's Cheney?

This is a slippery slope and I’m grateful it failed. If the Dems had put forth a vote for the Nunes Memo, Nunes would have been censured with a 16 mil fine.

The Dems stick together and could give a damn regarding the truth. They would use this to destroy anyone for any reason.

I can picture down the road a Republican stating repeatedly that there are only two sexes and bam...censure and a massive fine.

Never forget how evil the Dems are and unfortunately they may have the majority in the house again.

I agree with everything you say about the mendacious reprobate from California. He’s smegma.

It’s the 16,000,000.00 fine that is stupid and I believe it was PURPOSELY INSERTED TO KILL THE DEAL, by whom, is the question. That person has some explaining to do.

The reason the 20, especially Thomas Massey from Kentucky, voted no, they know that 16 mil was wrong, it’s like Harry Reid’s “Nuclear Option” in the Senate, basically turnabout is fair play and they know how the liberal courts will hold Republicans to the fine while letting the dims off the hook.

You put work into that, and I understood it the first time, so that’s good.

I think I can see where you are coming from. If we were back in the 60’s I would probably agree with most of what you have said here.

My friend, we are staring down the barrel of full throated communism. Camps, eating grass, and forced labor. It is time to get nasty. I don’t want to eat grass, and I don’t want that for my wife and kids.

Some day, if we make it through this, maybe we can get back to politicking like gentlemen. But we are up against an enemy that will (figuratively, for now) smash the wine bottle an try to stab us with it over dinner conversation.

Trump is a brawler. That is what we need.

Now this part you are not going to like. Just because someone is a vet does not make them a good person, or worthy of respect. Their actions and conduct garner that. I do not like McCain. I do not like Gen. Milley, or John Kerry either. A person can make this judgement whether they served or not. I met dudes in the military that you would not want around your kids or daughters. But mostly they were good people.

McConnell.... under his leadership we have been brought to the precipice of communism. Yes, dumb SoB or actually more likely corrupt SOB is appropriate.

To blindly support the “team” is what the Democrats do. It is a collectivist or union mindset. Do that long enough and eventually we’ll all be commies, sort of like where we are now.

Trump has a family that is 10s, wildly successful, beautiful, smart, and loyal. That is not a good avenue of attack. But that does not stop the left from going for it.

Settling is admitting guilt. Bad move - don’t believe me? Check out the movie Dinesh did on Hillary. Not a good avenue of attack, but the left uses it.

And finally, it is bad tactic to allow your enemy to give you their talking points. Do not take their advice, do not accept their council, and for Pete’s sake don’t let them pick your Generals... it is not in your best interest.

Oh, and you were in the military and nobody ever made a small dick joke? What the heck branch was that? XD XD XD.

We’re going to need to toughen up some, or it will be boiled grass and mining for our retirement.

They have fines today. They’ve imposed fines for 30 years, and nothing prevents the scenarios you mentioned.

Is that like, if we don’t Impeach Biden, they won’t Impeach Trump?

Pure folly

Massie Voted for Fines imposed by Congress on Jan 3rd, 2017.

Kinda hard to claim their “unconstitutional” now.

And people want to ignore other Republicans have said the Fine has nothing to do with their Votes to protect Schiff.

If America is facing full-throated communism, we need a winner.

Trump grew tired of winning in 2018. We lost the House that year under Trump. Then, two years later, we lost the Senate as well as the White House under Trump. That’s called losing. No matter that many of us consider Trump to be a hero, we should prefer politicians who win.

Trump says he lost in 2020 because the election was rigged (conveniently ignoring that he was president when we lost the House in 2018). Was Trump powerless in 2020? No. He was president. What did he do in 2020 to prevent the election from being rigged? Again, we need politicians who win. In war, Douglas McArthur said, there is no substitute for victory.

I will now address your idea that we need a gutter fighter to fight the communists. First of all, Donald Trump isn’t a winner. He lost the House in 2018, and the Senate and the Presidency in 2020.

Second, while being a nasty son of a bitch may be advantageous in the short run, being nice is better in the long run. Granted, you might not believe this.

I notice you have a lot of unconventional ideas. You like people who avoid military service and don’t like veterans. You like people who curse, not people who speak in proper English. You like people who cheat on their taxes and on their wives, and whose businesses commit fraud. I’ll just say your idea that to win you have to be a nasty son of a bitch is unconventional.

Third, to be more specific about this, we need a President will appoint decent people to his staff and to the cabinet instead of the sleazebag losers that Trump appointed; who can work with almost all Republicans in the House and Senate to enact legislation; and, who can build on our majorities in the House and the Senate, not lose our majorities to the other party.

A junkyard dog as you prefer could only succeed as a dictator, something our system of checks and balances is designed to prevent.

“we need a winner.”

Selecting the person your enemy lets you select is not winning. But you know this.

“election was rigged”

It was. Anyone with a functioning brain knows this. And if they don’t, the slightest bit of research would make this conclusion evident to all but the perpetrators running the con. It would be clear to them also, they just wouldn’t admit it. But you know this.

“He was president.”

President’s aren’t supposed to run federal elections. What little input he gave, the ‘tards are going to use to prosecute him. but you know this.

“being nice is better in the long run.”

This is what the left tells me. It is bad advice, empirically. It has gotten us where we are now - on the very edge of Gulag. But you know this.

“you have a lot of unconventional ideas.”

Indeed. Convention is what got us here. Who keeps doing the same thing over and over?

“people who speak in proper English.”

I notice yours has improved significantly over the last few days. You must have gotten Babble?

” sleazebag losers that Trump appointed”

Did you write him a letter alerting him that his appointments were a bad move? Why not? Look, if you know something you need to let people know before hand. We’re supposed to be a team here.

“our system of checks and balances”

You think that’s what’s going on here? You must not be paying attention.

Re: 52 - The comments about McCain by President Trump regarding McCain’s POW status were over the top. He should have just criticized McCain’s political positions, etc. But he could not help himself. And his comments were such that he denigrated all POWs. That’s nuts considering that President Trump did not volunteer to serve and as you noted, avoided military service.

Frankly, there’s a growing trend by more and more FReepers to denigrate military service based on the political positions of the person who served. I am not talking about John Kerry who I believe forfeited respect due to him with his testimony to Congress. I’m talking about FReepers who refer to Dan Crenshaw as “Eyepatch McCain”, etc. That’s mocking the military sacrifice that Crenshaw made because they don’t agree with his stance on the issues.
