Isn’t Trump a former Soros partner?

In 2004, George Soros made a $160 million loan to Donald Trump to build Trump Tower in Chicago.

That was a business deal, and Trump paid it back.

If Trump hadn’t paid it back, the hotel would belong to Alexander.

Political contributions are pay-for-future-play.

No. Soros was part of a team of investors who leant money to the Trump organization for one of his building projects. The bulk of the financing for the project came from Deutch Bank. The team of investors, of which Soros was a part, leant a smaller amount to Trump through what’s known as a “mezzanine-loan”. Trump was 11 years away from entering politics at the time.
