Tensions between House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) and House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.) bubbled up into the open last week as House GOP leaders dealt with hard-line conservative rebels bringing action on the floor to a halt over the debt limit compromise with the White House.
McCarthy on Wednesday morning directly named Scalise when explaining to reporters why the conservatives rebelled, pointing to a “misinterpretation” between Scalise and Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-Ga.).
McCarthy answered “yes” when asked Wednesday evening if members of his leadership team were on the same page amid the floor drama.
But in an interview with Punchbowl News on Wednesday afternoon, describing the rebellion on the House floor, Scalise pointed to the conservative members feeling “misled by the speaker” over McCarthy’s handling of the debt limit deal compared to the commitments he made during the Speaker’s race in January — a gripe that Scalise neither affirmed nor shot down.
The two men publicly pointing to differing reasons behind the conservative rebellion represents a rare public display of the tensions between the GOP leaders managing a slim and spunky House majority. As the House reaches almost a full week of stalemate, it’s a situation that some members hope can be put to rest sooner rather than later.
“Cooler heads have got to prevail. They’re great people. They’re actually very similar,” Rep. Don Bacon (R-Neb.) said of Scalise and McCarthy, adding that he hopes they can work together. “They better.”

The entire GOP House leadership are traitors to hardworking Americans. They are incompetent and inept. Don’t listen to a damn thing they say, watch them act like commies and ignore freedom loving Americans. Spit on them. Endlessly abuse and ridicule these pieces of chit. No use crying over spilled milk. The spending limit is done for now. Focus on the important matters at hand.
McCarthy must do this simply to have an opposition narrative running against the Trump indictment.
The Republicans in the House need to show the actual facts against Biden so they can stand in contrast to the evidence that Biden's DoJ is using to indict President Trump.
Even if the House never gets to an actual vote on impeachment itself, they need to use the process to expose the details of the potential charges against Biden.
The problem is that Republican leadership just doesn't think this way.

I don’t think they are traitors, but they are the biggest collection of soulless, aggressively stupid people one could find. The majority of them have never had a real job, they spend most of their lives in DC inside the beltway. They rarely talk to anyone but news media and each other. They spend their time making silly laws to which they are not subject, and spending other peoples money. And what makes their lives most wonderful is they are unsupervised, unaccountable and above the law.
PA Conservative is right on! The handful in conservatives that held up the speakership got lied to. Lied to in their faces. The republican leadership has been infiltrated by leftists. Hold up everything from now on. Don’t agree to eat half the crap sandwich. Don’t even take a bite. Just say NO!
