'Awkward' Ron DeSantis 'has to be told when to SMILE by advisors,' who are now desperate to get him talking with more voters after gaffes derailed his 2024 launch

Ron DeSantis’s campaign wants him to meet and take more questions from ordinary voters to overcome fears about his temperament, DailyMail.com has learned.

The 44-year-old has so far shied away from Q&A sessions on the road, despite being a standard feature of U.S. politics.

Now, three DeSantis staffers have said they have concerns about the Navy veteran’s presentational style after being overshadowed by his wife Casey at rallies.

A third source said that they even had to coach the Florida governor on ‘when to smile’ when trying to interact with ordinary Americans.

The Daily Mail?

Ron has lost the Daily Mail?

As a commenter who has criticized Ron about petty stuff such as his height calling him the little fella and dressing like Trump in a blue suit and red power tie when he was interviewed by Murdoch’s elite Brit gun-grabber, I am FLABBERGASTED that the Daily Mail would come out with a piece like this.

Even if it is true which I suspect it is, it is a mean-spirited piece.

It reminds me of CNN going after Trump because he supposedly got an extra scoop of ice cream.

I guess we found a major difference between Biden and Ron.

Smile is the only thing that Biden doesn’t have to be prompted to do, with senility it just comes natural.

Some of us just call it the Uniparty. Which is ‘why’ some of us see DeSantis as a refreshing change to that same ole same ole crap...proven by policies he has in place in Florida against the radical, evil left.

Thanks for admitting that desantis/Jeb2.0 is just a new face of the uniparty....

And mccarthy, mcconnell, paul ryan, etc.... were and are all part of the opposition party to Trump and his policies.

You obviously have a severe case of reading comprehension dysfunction. Trying to lump DeSantis in with Jeb Bush is blatantly false. But I guess it’s all you’ve got.

Trump praised and backed McCarthy and McCarthy is the new speaker that just did that “deal”. There’s no way you can honestly spin that glaring reality. By virtue of that fact alone, that would place Trump IN the Uniparty category. But then, he has also praised others on the left, so it’s probably no big deal to you and your ilk. Right?

In a perfect or sane nation or world......or at least one that is still going by ‘the law’...that might be true. But do you not see how the law has been thrown out by these leftist cretins and is being twisted and used against us now?

I see it. There's just no way they can keep him off the ballot in any state.

Hell, this is probably all just moot, anyway. We’ve seen only part of what the left is willing to do to get and keep their power over us. There are millions of illegals flooding across the border as we speak. Millions more already here, millions more to come. Do you really think the Obama/Soros regime will not give blanket amnesty to those illegals making it legal for them to all vote Democrat? I see it clearly as their next new outrage against Americans. And nobody on our side has even tried, really, to prevent more election theft by fraud. If I sound upset, it’s because I am. We’re screwed.

Giving them amnesty is one thing. They have to be citizens to vote legally. They can't grant them all citizenship overnight. As for election integrity, we definitely do need to tighten things up in several states. That said, the laws in place now are better in multiple states than they were in 2020 and we have a lot more people watching for election fraud who were asleep at the wheel in 2020 and Democrats don't even have the excuse of Covid to get away with the unconstitutional changes to voting laws in multiple states they were able to get away with in 2020.

Also, its not too tough to steal 1-2%. Its very very tough to steal 6-7-8%. Trump already has a significant lead over Biden and if the economy tanks as most people expect, Trump's lead over Biden is going to explode. I think Trump will win beyond the margin of fraud in 2024.

Jeb Bush is a hearty supporter of DeSantis. He is pictured right there in attendance at Desantis’s victory party.

Wearing blinders is pathetic because the truth is going on out of the range of your blinders.

When he starts ‘remaking’ or ‘reintroducing’ himself, we know he is finished — this round at least.

As for his handlers, if they are the ‘bush’ bunch, he could be in real trouble. Second term GHWBush — lost, Bob Dole — lost, GWBush — barely won each term, McCain — lost, Romney — lost.

The more a political candidate has to be repackaged, the more plastic he/she appears.

“When you look at his political Youtubes, you get a sense he's such a sophomore.”

So you're saying ‘he's not even in the same class;

be, he is given credit for stepping up and out. Just as
Dr. Carson felt a need to do so. Both, small fish in a
big pond swimming alongside barracudas and sharks, all
attempt to avoid the hook.

Trump is excellent at the personal. He’s horrible at personnel. DeSantis is excellent at the personnel. He’s horrible at the personal.

True. Yet while Trump has a record of success and determined persistence against malevolent and powerful opponents in Washington, DeSantis is mostly untested. He has had the benefit of a solidly Republican Florida legislature at his back, in a state with solid finances and growing Republican political strength. It is not hard to be a successful conservative Republican governor in those circumstances.

“has to be told when to SMILE”

People think they want to elect leaders, but they almost always end up choosing entertainers, or just manufactured images. You get what you vote for.

What about your blinders? Like...re: the fact that DeSantis can’t help who supports him against Trump. That Jeb Bush has a hatred of Trump would explain it to anyone that had an ounce of logic....but some are sadly lacking in logic these days.

Can Trump help it if the Log Cabin Republicans (the gay community) and Disney like and support him? Tell me...how is it different?

I get your point, but I personally not hostile to DeSantis, just skeptical that he would be another Trump.

“Trump is excellent at the personal. He’s horrible at personnel. DeSantis is excellent at the personnel. He’s horrible at the personal.”

But do either of those traits really matter? In the end, all that matters is the policies that will reverse the destruction that has been and is being done to America.

Have you been reading my mind and drinking the same adult beverages as I do? I cannot find anything in your post to disagree with.

Oh, I have no illusions that he might be another Trump. That’s an impossibility. There IS no other Trump. Trump is a warrior when it comes to looking out for America’s interests instead of our enemies’ interests.

But.... DeSantis is a solid conservative that has done well in Florida against the evil left....and that would serve well as a substitute, should Trump be unable to run or win in 2024. There is no other candidate that would measure up, IMO. Pence? Dead to me, like the Bushes.

They both do to an extent. Trump demonstrated how absolutely HORRIBLE personnel decisions can tank your administration. DeSantis showed how someone with limited people skills can do amazingly well if you put the right people in the right places in your administration.

While you do have a valid point, I should have said....all that matters TO ME is the policies that will stop and/or reverse the destruction the radical left is doing and has done to the nation.

Yeah, it would be nice if Trump could hire only loyal staff with integrity. Nice dream. And yeah, it would be equally nice if DeSantis was more experienced and had better people skills and/or charisma. Another nice, but unrealistic, dream. But IF either of them is able to reverse the ongoing destruction of America by the DS Democrat left, I’d be thrilled and think I’d died and gone to Heaven. And yeah, I’m probably still dreaming.

I believe there are a lot more people than others would have you believe that are feeling the same way.
