The cost of housing migrants is so extraordinary — an estimated $4.3 billion between April of 2022 and July 2024 — that Mayor Adams says he must cut city services to afford it. [Emphasis added]
To manage those expenses, Adams says the city is planning to trim services such as library hours, meals for senior citizens, re-entry programming for Rikers Island prisoners, and free, full-day care for three-year-olds. Last month, Adams also sought to unwind the city’s right to shelter, which entitles the migrants to housing within 24 hours of their arrival. [Emphasis added]

Data provided by the comptroller’s office shows 37 hotels contracting directly with the city’s Department of Homeless Services are being paid daily rates ranging from $55 a day to $385 per day, sometimes far in excess of what the hotel rooms might otherwise rent for.

“American cities are addicted to Democrats.”
Their voters tend to be dopes.
I believe the word ‘dope’ comes from “d’opium” - from opium.
Come on, mayor Adams! Say those words, you know you want to!
Excellent news!
I think Mayor Adams is a good guy, but he’s swimming in a sea of sharks, much like DJT.
Yes, Chicago just voted in someone to the left of Lightfoot.
And the Dems in New York will CONTINUE to vote Democrat because they dont care
Let them suffer!
“Stopping the insanity starts with one Democrat.”
It starts with invoking Article 44.
Quotes from the 1951 Refugee Convention:
Article 23 - Public relief
The Contracting States shall accord to refugees lawfully staying in their territory the same treatment with respect to public relief and assistance as is accorded to their nationals.
Article 17 - Wage-earning employment
....
2. In any case, restrictive measures imposed on aliens or the employment of aliens for the protection of the national labour market shall not be applied to a refugee who was already exempt from them at the date of entry into force of this Convention for the Contracting State concerned, or who fulfils one of the following conditions:
(a) He has completed three years’ residence in the country;
....
(c) He has one or more children possessing the nationality of the country of residence.
Article 34 - Naturalization [and getting the right to vote]
The Contracting States shall as far as possible facilitate the assimilation and naturalization of refugees. They shall in particular make every effort to expedite naturalization proceedings and to reduce as far as possible the charges and costs of such proceedings.

Article 44 - Denunciation [getting out from under the Refugee Convention]
1. Any Contracting State may denounce this Convention at any time by a notification addressed to the Secretary-General of the United Nations.
2. Such denunciation shall take effect for the Contracting State concerned one year from the date upon which it is received by the Secretary-General of the United Nations....
YER GITTIN' WHAT YOU VOTED FOR 'TARDS!
Cut back on servicer to New Yorkers but they will not cut back on room service to the migrants that are living in hotels. Of course the migrants will keep coming. Free room and board plus the hotels provide flowers and chocolates.
“city’s Department of Homeless Services”
APPLICATION for HOMELESS ASSISTANCE
1. Do you have a relative or friend that would be willing and able to provide you a place to sleep?
....
I agree to reimburse the City of New York for the cost of housing and other assistance provided to me and my natural dependents insomuch as I reasonably can. In addition,I agree to reimburse the City of New York for any and all legal costs resulting from my failure(s) to do so.
The people in Chicago are revolting. But you are right, the Democrat will always win.
They’ll take Manhattan.
They can keep it too.
Why should he care?
The voters have no voice, they don't count.
Only the people who count the votes count.
“Voters are watching? Don’t count on it. Ten years ago, Seattle use to be a relatively safe and clean city. Now, it’s a complete hell hole. They still vote hard blue. ”
I was in Seattle last month, the areas where the “elites” live is fine, the rest of the city is a real craphole.
Did Adams run his election campaign on hosting illegal aliens in hotels? No? Then stop saying saying that the people of New York “voted for this” because they obviously did not
Not only no, but HELL no!
We didn't vote Democrap specifically because WE DON'T WANT 'EM HERE!
If they voted Democrat, they voted for everything that Democrats would do to them.
I hope it gets gooder and harder yet.
