ALAN DERSHOWITZ's stunning verdict on Donald Trump's indictment: The ex-president's brag to a writer was 'worst sentence he's ever uttered' and every time he opens his mouth he increases his chances of going to prison

The sensational federal indictment Donald Trump faces has stunned one of the former president's most famous supporters, Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz.

Trump faces 31 counts over claims he illegally-stored highly classified government documents at his Mar-a-Lago country club. Jaw-dropping details of the charges against Trump were outlined Friday - and he faces a lengthy prison sentence if convicted. Trump will appear before a Miami court on Tuesday.

Dershowitz describes himself as a liberal Democrat, although he has previously spoken out against what he sees as the unfair persecution of Trump.

And in an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com, he said the new charges Trump faces are exceptionally serious. The author also warned that the former president's usual strategy of going on the attack could land him in even deeper trouble.

This article refers to “hearsay.” “Trump said this according to what I heard.”

Let’s see President Trump go to trial where evidence is submitted and testimony is heard and cross-examined before we accept ANY of this as true.

This is more of “Trump-is-a-Russian-agent” slander.

Depends on declassification.

Does a document automatically become declassified if Trump intends to take them with him? Does the act itself mean they are declassified?

Trump may have indeed intended to declassify them, he may have said “I could have declassified them” referring to the moment they were given him as president.

What I’m getting is there is context to the conversation which needs to be understood first.

NO document is classified to the prez, he is the one and only who can declassify a document at any time.

Unlike the documents that quid pro joe had squirreled away, he was not prez when he did it and therefore could not declassify them.

What was the Transcript of the conversation trump had.

Its difficult to search engine it.

We need a clean transcript of the audio itself to understand the context.

Trump's worst flaw is that he brags. He learned early on that promoting a big real estate deal you have to brag about how good you are and how good the building will be in order to get anywhere. That skill helped him in politics but doesn't carry over well to the world of handling classified data.

Trump was a great president and will MAGA if they don't succeed in tossing him in jail. I don't think they'll succeed. He has no and never had any malicious intent in anything he did during or after his term. His lawyers will have to argue the technicalities and that shouldn't be too difficult.

When this goes to trial, the same antics from the bench will happen just as they did in the kangaroo court that went after Alex Jones. It was kind of a test run on how to rule from the bench that takes away all the rights of the defendant.

I believe this is how they will run this and that info you wanted to see will never see the light of day in a court such as this.

Declassified documents have to be marked so.

Otherwise, several classified documents that former President Trump took with him, still have the classified marking(s).

A record of his admission that he has such classified documents, is within the indictment.

He kept documents that he believed would prove his cases against whomever of the government, had wronged him; and he did not want to surrender such documents.

Document 5 on page 29 of the indictment is particularly interesting. It’s classification is:

TOP SECRET//[redacted]/[redacted]//ORCON/NOFORN

Document dated June 2020 concerning the nuclear capabilities of a foreign country.

Any guesses as to which foreign country this is about?

Declassified documents have to be marked so.

Applies to who?

A record of his admission that he has such classified documents, is within the indictment.

Its not an admission that the documents he has are currently classified.

“one of the former president’s most famous supporters, Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz.”

LOL! Author is an idiot. Dersh doesn’t support Trump; he supports the Constitution. He pretty much hates Trump, never has voted him and never will, according to an interview this week.

He still brags about voting for Hillary. Interesting that he never criticizes Hillary’s multiple violations of the Constitution.

Yes, Trump is held to strict accountability for every word spoken by a rogue agency that uses lies and deception to achieve desired objectives.

This case will be dismissed due to what is termed fruit of the poisonous tree, starting with the raid.

Example

Page 16 of 49, in the indictment:

TRUMP: See as president I could have declassified it.

STAFFER: Yeah. [Laughter]

TRUMP: Now I can’t, you know, but this is still a secret.

STAFFER: Yeah. [Laughter] Now we have a problem.

“Dershowitz has never been a Trump supporter so I didn’t read past the first lie.”

It may not be entirely accurate or true... but it has been and is being perceived as the truth by the idiot left... since Dershowitz has defended Trump in the past... and was part of Trump’s defense team in the first impeachment, and was close with a Trump ally, Pompeo....which managed to turn the usual suspect leftist morons, like Larry David (see below), against him.

“Alan Dershowitz was part of Trump’s team during his first Senate impeachment trial last year.”

“…the documents that quid pro joe had squirreled away”

He didn’t squirrel anything away. He sold them to enemies of the state then strewed them about in his garage.

You nailed it .
Why did Trump keep any classified documents in a FL resort ?
He lost and had no reason to possess these documents such as the
Iranian invasion plans .
Biden and Pence did the similar things .

Trump taped interview with that reporter was a huge mistake He has screwed himself.
But Trump personally attacking the Federal Prosecutor was beyond moronic .

A federal 37 indictment situation is serious . /> The Feds have a conviction success rate of 90 % if it goes to trial .
Trump's vicious attacks gave the Prosecutor personal motivation .

Trump needs to step aside and work to help us win the WH and Congress to save him from prison .
He has no chance winning any general election . He drives Dems to vote.

Wrong. The Presidential Records act allows Trump to hold and move classified information. There is no criminal penalties associated with the Act. Trump has a SCIF, paid/cleared staff, and 24 hour USSS protection on his person and residence.

Former Presidents are allowed to review their papers at their leisure in preparation for their Presidential libraries. Historically, there have been disagreements between the National Archives and former Presidents. The NA complained or were invited to complain to the WH. Biden/Garland turned it into a criminal case including a raid on MAL.

Real objective: Confiscate the declassified Crossfire Hurricane records.

TRUMP: See as president I could have declassified it.

STAFFER: Yeah. [Laughter]

TRUMP: Now I can’t, you know, but this is still a secret.

Example according to you amounts to an admission that "This document is not declassified. Here look at a classified document"

Words like "still a secret," does not mean it is official an secret.

"Now I can't, you know" does not mean that it was not in-fact declassified when in office.

see as president I could have declassified it.

Does not mean he did not in-fact declassify it.
