ALAN DERSHOWITZ's stunning verdict on Donald Trump's indictment: The ex-president's brag to a writer was 'worst sentence he's ever uttered' and every time he opens his mouth he increases his chances of going to prison

The sensational federal indictment Donald Trump faces has stunned one of the former president's most famous supporters, Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz.

Trump faces 31 counts over claims he illegally-stored highly classified government documents at his Mar-a-Lago country club. Jaw-dropping details of the charges against Trump were outlined Friday - and he faces a lengthy prison sentence if convicted. Trump will appear before a Miami court on Tuesday.

Dershowitz describes himself as a liberal Democrat, although he has previously spoken out against what he sees as the unfair persecution of Trump.

And in an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com, he said the new charges Trump faces are exceptionally serious. The author also warned that the former president's usual strategy of going on the attack could land him in even deeper trouble.

Why would you want to make it easier for them?

I hope Trump kept copies.

Trump can hold classified information. When the FBI first came to MAL, they suggested that Trump put some locks on the room where he kept the material. He has 24 hour USSS protection.

This is a manufactured process crime derived from a non-criminal alleged violation of the PRA. A civil suit is the appropriate remedy.

Was Clinton’s sock drawer an appropriate location? The Smith indictment contains no mention of the PRA. What is the harm done to national security by Trump?

Event a. hinges on an interpretation that the words Trump uses admit the documents are officially classified, “Secret” in the official sense.

Again, the words used may imply they were, but they can be misinterpreted to mean that claim when in actual fact they are just bragging about what the president could do and not do.

The words don’t admit to that they were never declassified.

What Trump said or didn’t say and did or didn’t do is irrelevant. The fact is Trump is being illegally persecuted to prevent him from being our representative as President. This unprecedented attack on an opposition party presidential candidate comes from only one place…..abject fear. It’s a waste of time to argue the merits of this case because there are none. We need to do away with the fantasy that we are still being governed under the rule of law. We have evil people that are ruling over us. The US Constitution, established law and precedent are all irrelevant under the current junta. We need to approach solutions with the understanding that our enemies have no rules.

He may have just been bragging to the writer, the words surely imply that they weren’t declassified, but they can be interpreted ambiguously.

If they have the system so refined, they wouldn’t be doing this.

They are doing this to depress the GOP vote precisely because in the present disastrous economy and with rising crime, thair own voters are not going to be as motivated as ours, and because their push for all things homosexual has cost them a lot of their former black and Islamic support.

Depressing the opponents’ base is one of the most productive tactics they have, and they have teams of trolls doing it. That is what they did in the Alabama special election, too, posing as “Russians.”

Trump declassified the Crossfire Hurricane documents on Jan 19, 2021. He has the right to hold a copy. Most, if not all, of the material is held by the USG in the form of electronic files or hard copy. The material is not missing. DOJ wants Trump’s copies/originals because it is devastating to the Obama/Biden Administration, this according to Kash Patel who has seen the documents.

In any other universe, the Biden Crime Family revelations would dominate the news.

This is why they brought in the writers and Mark Meadows. They can speak to what happened in that conversation without the tape.

If he said that what would it mean, given that in private conversation there is no reason to treat comments made privately as if they were made in court under oath, and as if they were accurate when made. There is ample evidence he misspeaks a lot and uses imprecise language.

Biden said quite calmly and clearly on tape when he was not under any pressure and not angry that he arranged for the firing of a Ukrainian prosecutor. Even so, if he was on trial it would still be necessary to prove by other means that is what in fact happened.

Nice placement by the FBI when they raided Mar-a-Lago and moved boxes around.

This is theater.

If Trump is knocked out, Biden will be kicked to the curb so fast his head will spin.

The other day will go down as the day two Presidents were “taken out.”

I haven’t followed that part too closely, but how specific was the national archives about what they wanted back? Who was responsible for packing Trump’s things before shipping them off to Florida & how well organized were all those boxes of documents so that specific ones could be located? If you look at some of the pictures of Trump document storage, you can see that it might take awhile to go through, and I’m sure there are some things that Trump believed he had a right to keep. If I were Trump, I would have been collecting as much info as possible on all the actors trying to set him up for the Russian collusion hoax.

So they can. Can they unambiguously claim that Trump meant he was stating the Documents were still classified?

The writer might have been led to believe this, giving the nature of the words used, this might have been bragging.

Was Mark Meadows in the room when Trump made those claims?

The redacted markings mean the document contains sources and methods. We can't reveal sources and methods of how we know about some hostile country's nuclear capabilities

That said, Trump had no intention of revealing anything like that, nor is there any allegation that he did.

I do not trust that recording. And I don’t put them inserting some top secret files in his boxes!
