Major teacher training program change removes diversity, equity and inclusion from training rules

ATLANTA — The Georgia Professional Standards Commission voted unanimously to remove words like “diversity”, “equity” and “inclusion” from teacher training rules Thursday.

Starting July 1, teacher training programs are no longer required to discuss the words when preparing educators for the classroom.

Teachers and civil rights advocates present for the vote called the commissioners “shameful.”

“They know what they’re doing. Education is an institution that can either destroy or nurture future generations, but they don’t want strong generations. They want disempowered generations in pain under this white supremacist violence,” said Jonathan Peraza-Campos with the Intercultural Development Research Association.

The words come into play when school districts provide continuing education programs for teachers or when future educators are going through college.

The commission that sets the standards for teacher training programs is made up of 18 people from the private and education sectors appointed by the governor.

So one has to wonder if they are actually changing policy or are once again changing the definitions of words. Progressives are good at playing the game of "hide the policy" as they work to remove words that a search may be looking for especially in response to discovery or FOIA documents.

“So one has to wonder if they are actually changing policy or are once again changing the definitions of words. “

I’m guessing the latter. They will still indoctrinate kids but they will be sneakier about it.

Government indoctrination centers are the only institution in America that children are forced to go to by law. Parents do not have the choice of sending their children one indoctrination center over another. Parents are forcibly compelled to pay taxes to pay for government indoctrination centers.

Teachers, their unions, and advocates can STFU unless education dollars are given directly to parents so parents can choose where they educate their children.

Yep, FAR TOO MANY of the people on our side understand Leftists like you do - they NEVER give up ground, but they are willing to APPEAR to give up ground, thus tricking conservatives into thinking they winning. A couple of other examples:

ACORN disbands after being caught in massive election fraud...but guess what, their people were back in force for 2020.

Schools say they’ve ended Whole Language Reading...but guess what, now students do SIGHT WORDS (for years), which, by definition, is Whole Language.

Schools say they’re no longer pushing an anti-America agenda...but guess what, they’ve worked it into their curriculums so it’s much harder to identify.

The time to celebrate is NOT when we’re told something Leftist is ending, but rather when it is PROVEN to us that it has ended, and there is very little of that.
For schools, you must FIRE ALL OF THEM, ‘teachers’ and administrators, and then hire via different means (such as corporate retirees).
For ACORN, those people needed to be tried, convicted, and jailed. Neither of the above has happened, nor even been discussed.

Another “ Research Association” on the Left. Needs to be researched itself to see where their money comes from, open or laundered.

Agreed

that’s all it’s gonna be.

Diversity? - hear from lots of voices
Equity? - fairness is just common sense
Inclusion? - who are you gonna not allow to pursue the American Dream?

New Boss same as the Old Boss.

Good, another win. Hope it is real and not just a change of words.

I challenge Jonathan Hyphenated to cite one example of recent white supremacist violence. He cannot.

Education is an institution that can either destroy or nurture future generations

Teachers and their unions and democrats supporting them, know that they are the ones destroying future generations, or the future of their students.

Removing DEI or CRT of LGBTQ+ from their curriculum does not mean that they will stop indoctrinating students; they'll just do it in stealth mode.

I remember when the NYC teachers union offered a free seminar on home buying put on by ACORN. When I investigated ACORN, I found that I didn't want to reveal any of my personal information, particularly financial, to commie scum like them. It figures that the despicable commie union would bring in such people to "help" its members. I successfully purchased my co-op apartment and lived there quite a few years before I became disgusted enough with NYC to leave.

Note government involvement: “Program areas at Intercultural Development Research Association. The region ii idra eac-south is a federally funded program [!!] that idra operates to develop local capacity among the approximately 2,329 school districts and 28,628 schools in the region and to desegregate schools in the area of race, national origin, gender and religion.

““They want disempowered generations in pain under this white supremacist violence,””

The government and society in general have done a lot of re-empowering and helping Blacks in the last 50 years.

The emphasis needs to be shifting toward a need for Blacks to improve their own culture. I fear that all the help government gives them makes them less able to act for themselves.

Not all Blacks, of course.

By in large, Georgia is a well governed state. They are actually trying to return real education to classroom, and close out the groomers and wokesters.

This is only for public consumption. They may not use certain words anymore, but there’s no doubt that the curriculum will still be thoroughly infected with the ideology behind them.

It’s OK. Taxes are too high and too numerous. Road construction is forever.

“Teachers” and “civil rights advocates” … gotcha.

“They know what they’re doing. Education is an institution that can either destroy or nurture future generations, but they don’t want strong generations. They want disempowered generations in pain under this white supremacist violence,” said Jonathan Peraza-Campos with the Intercultural Development Research Association.

Had to repeat the extremist’s quote. SPLC should look carefully at his organization to see if it needs to be added to their list of racist groups. /s

Sounds like they aren’t requiring DEI training but that doesn’t mean it won’t happen.

Yes, the states - the GOP led states - are going to have to take the lead on this. They can get help when we ditch the Federal Dept of Ed.
