Desantis, do the right thing and drop out of the race now and back Trump. We need you on our side and not the Deep States’ side.

NO! Republicans should carry forward with the campaign, business as usual. But separately everyone must hold Democrats feet to the fire. Otherwise, maybe the party ask all candidates to suspend their respective campaigns to focus on impeaching Democrats.

Why would he do that? It's time to go with the new horse. And that's DeSantis.

Boy, are you a hypocrite. You have been one of the most vocal RDS haters on Free Republic. And here you are saying "we need you"?

What changed your mind to get you to admit we need DeSantis?

At least DeSantis said as much as he did.

Any GOP politician who says the same as they did during the impeachments, and responds with such platitudes as “Let the court process play out”, is dead to me, and I’ll not support any of them in the future.

Furthermore, if any single GOP member says something along the lines of “trust in the principles of our DOJ and Garland”, I will personally call them and ask them to provide me the evidence of “principles” or reasons for that “trust”. (I suspect those type phrases will be uttered by either Romney, Collins, or Graham, and more than likely will be done on this coming Sunday’s talk shows)

Several times I have hoped for and even begged the GOP to develop a “backbone” or look to find their own b*lls. They have yet to do so which is why I will no longer vote for any of the GOPe supported candidates. Trump and Freedom Caucus candidates are the only ones I will support.

Pence, as VP, did not have de-classification authority, yet they cleared the decks for him earlier this week. Biden, neither as Senator nor as VP, had declassification authority. Yet, Biden is not even seriously being investigated (I look for him to be cleared by as early as September but no later than December). Meanwhile, the only one indicted for possession of classified documents in the one of the three with the authority to declassify those documents. (And I’m not even going back further to document issues with Obama and HRC-—that’s a whole different can of worms).

Meanwhile, the courts turn a blind eye to the corruption in our executive branch of government. They are supposed to be the branch of government that puts a stop to political corruption by ruling that the executive branch must adhere to the Constitution. Their attitude is “not my clowns, not my circus”. Yes, it IS your circus and you are supposed to call out the corrupt ringmaster!

DeSantis’ statement was appropriate for this outrageous action by the DOJ.

In your fantasy world, everyone prostrates themselves and worships at the Trump altar.

True

DeSantis is weaponized against Trump.

He should drop out and support Trump.

He’s got a good job.

FL should fire him for betraying those that voted for him.

Well lookie there.

That may be the first time you’ve ever spelled his name correctly. Wonder if Trump might finally do the same now too.

What is happening to Trump is clearly unfair. But he may not get much sympathy from a lot of people, considering how egregious and condescending he’s been for so long to everyone but his disciples.

It looks like DeSantis will call the situation out for what it is, as I expected he would. And hopefully Trump will finally learn there can be a price to pay for being such a smart ass all the time, and get control of his mouth and keyboard before he does any more damage to himself.
