Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, Donald Trump's leading rival for the 2024 GOP nomination, said the decision to charge the former president demonstrated political bias in the Biden Justice Department and it's "weaponization" of its police powers.
Trump was indicted Thursday on federal charges involving conspiracy, obstruction, and taking classified documents.
"The weaponization of federal law enforcement represents a mortal threat to a free society," Florida Governor Ron DeSantis stated Thursday. "We have for years witnessed an uneven application of the law depending upon political affiliation. Why so zealous in pursuing Trump yet so passive about Hillary or Hunter?"
DeSantis said his administration "will bring accountability to the DOJ, excise political bias and end weaponization once and for all."
Other GOP candidates made supportive statements, but not all.

this is called waiting for the polles to tell you how to respond....this is something that DeSantis should of said months ago when the narrative campaign started to get support for the indictment.
Just as I said, Trump supporters live in a fantasy world, full of arrogance and smite. And little will probably change.

Were DeSantis to have a legitimate pair of balls, he'd have condemned the indictment and simply said he stands behind Legit President Trump.
In fact, EVERY Candidate would be saying that, demonstrating unity and putting full focus on the corruption that's before all our very eyes.
Yet, where are these condemnations and calls for unity among Conservatives and Republicans on this?
Completely absent.
This country has crossed the rubicon, folks. There's NO GOING BACK.
NONE of these Republicans save for Legit President Trump deserves our support at this point.
I would've voted for Trump or DeSantis as the winners of the Republican Primary because I feel it's that damn' important to root out the corruption that infests every level, every department of our Government and get Biden out.

Oh please. You just outed yourself who’s an OnlyTrumper, who thinks it’s just fine for Trump to endlessly promote himself, while constantly denigrating everyone who doesn’t bow before him, but DeSantis isn’t even allowed to speak unless it’s 100% subservient to Trump.
You should actually be thankful DeSantis isn’t piling on, which many others would do in this situation.

I donated to Trump in November 2020 to stop the steal. Trump spent some of the millions he received for that purpose on lawyers but the vast majority of that money he kept and is using for his current campaign. He has not spent a penny of it helping the J6 prisoners, whom he asked to come to DC to support him. He hasn’t used it to pay their legal fees, which he is morally obligated to do. They were unjustly imprisoned,many are still imprisoned and Trump only mentions them when asked. He says he would pardon a “large portion” of them. Why not all?
I was a huge Trump supporter. No more. Any decent man partly responsible for the imprisonment of others would use his money to help them, to provide for their families, to pay their legal fees. No, Trump didn’t put them in jail. The deep state did. But they wouldn’t be in that position if he hadn’t called them to DC for...what, exactly?
Okay.
You know what it means. You want trump to walk right into the nomination without having a healthy primary. He does not get to dictate that and neither do his cult members.

Claiming “unfairness” or “a double standard” or being upset about “weaponization” means that you are living in a fantasy world. The other sides hates us. They don’t want to be fair. They haven’t claimed they were trying to be fair for 20 years.
We are in open war.
They have done everything in their power to destroy the middle class, kill our economy and enrich themselves.
They have openly said they want government to treat you differently based on your skin color, country of origin, gender, etc....
They created a virus in a lab that was either accidentally or deliberately released on us. They then lied and covered it up for years.
They spied on the sitting President.
They impeached him twice for pointing out their own crimes.
They rigged an election.
Now they are going to throw a former President in jail.
RDS saying he wants to “end the weaponization” of the DOJ is the WRONG thing to say. He needs to say that he is going to keep it weaponized and turn it against the deep state. Anything less than that is either foolish and obtuse or evidence of his collusion.

DeSantis makes a statement in support of a political opponent and all you can do is look for something else to find fault with. Only Trumper is correct. Have you no concept of objectivity?
