The video shows that the man desperately shouted 'Papa, Papa' as the predator closely hunted him in the water, circling him before launching the attack.

The man can be seen desperately trying to swim towards the shore, but appears to be attacked by the shark while still in deeper waters.

His body is seen spinning in the water, and his legs raise above the surface - as horrified onlookers scream and shout for the man to swim.

'Swim away, swim away! Quick! A shark!' people can be heard shouting.

The splashing in the water stops, and the man's head returns to the surface. He appears in the video to be moving around in the water again, but only slowly.

He can be heard screaming 'Papa', pleading for help, as some of the water turns red.

As he does so, the shark's body is seen clearly at the surface this time. The long black shape circles around the man, and its fin and tail are seen near the surfa

What a messed-up degenerate thing to say.

What the actual hell?

I don’t know how this got so screw up. The line is “I’m not going to stand here and let you perform...”

Sorry if I offended anyone.

The Red Sea's shark attack hotspots ....

The majority of attacks were by oceanic whitetip sharks, which can grow up to 11 feet long and live for 25 years.

But in the last year, the tiger shark has attacked three people including Mr Popov, a 40-year-old Romanian woman and a 68-year-old German woman.

I posted a map of the attacks in that area -up thread a little.

It took less than 35 seconds from the start of the attack until he was pulled under the last time. For the viewers on the dock - likely just about 20 seconds once they fully realized what was happening. .....So if a Tiger shark is hunting for food, has his target, you really don't have time to get away nor to be rescued.

I saw that kid who jumped off a cruise ship photo you mentioned. He had been drinking so even with the current it could have pulled him away and under. Last I read they weren't sure regarding a possible shark in the shadows.

I've seen a lot of shark attack videos. Frankly the ocean is their domain so i will always be a risk to swim there IMO. So I would never do that.

Some believe this shows the Cruise jumper trying to get away from a shark others say it's his foot kicking and creating a splash.

Even those non-fatal shark attacks you posted would be traumatic. Not an area I would want to swim in, that’s for sure.

One shark down, who knows how many more to go.

I wonder if remnants were still in its stomach.

Apparently there are several reasons they are attracted to that area. Boats who chum, cruise ships who discard garbage etc. - so they’ve learned where there’s a food source....... If you note on one of the photos there’s actually slides on that dock for kids to slide down and “splash” into the water....which splashing can attract sharks to the surface to check things out. Also the temperature of the water attracts them there.

It’s been said of that area if the sharks don’t get to you the food will! I guess it’s pretty bad.LOLOL

(not quite) My Shark Story.

A friend of mine, let's call him Chuck, who is somewhat crazy, tells this story. Knowing him I believe it!

One day, Chuck was out diving with friends off Davenport, about half way between Half Moon Bay, and Santa Cruz CA.

He was swimming along, minding his own business, trying out his new $80 flippers. A seal grabbed one of his flippers. Annoyed, he kicked his foot up to shake the seal loose. This flipped HIM up under what he describes as a boxcar with fins. His "seal" was a Great White Shark!

The shark didn't like the taste of rubber and spit out the fin. He boosted for the surface stuck his head up and said "HELP!" Head back down, look for shark. Head up: "SHARK!" At this point he sees everybody on the boat franticly running to and fro. He and the boat manage to get together.

Later he found out that some local fishermen were in the habit of cleaning their catch in that area.

Soooo, the shark came up beside the boat looking for a handout. Finding none it then swam off in his direction. His friends said it was as long as the boat, 12 feet.

OK, now fast forward a month and a half. Chuck is visiting friends in San Diego, They go out for a dive. There are Basking Sharks, a harmless filter feeder, in the area. So his friend who knows about the earlier dive says, "Hey, Chuck! Wanna swim with the sharks?"

Slow Learner Chuck says "Sure!"

Soon, he's in the water. He sticks his head up and can see the dorsal fin of a shark approaching him. Oh goody! Dunks his head and looks. The water is too murky. Head up. Fin still coming. Head down, too murky. Then...

Out of the gloom a mouth "big enough for me to stand up in in any direction" suddenly appears.

His friend says it was the funniest thing he ever saw. Chuck came straight up out of the water, walked 10 feet across the surface and sank back down...

They did retrieve some parts from the water - also likely from the shark....they were cremated after services according to the father.

Oh sheesh! That's a heck of a story! Basking Sharks might not be dangrous but their size alone would have kept me out of the water and in a panic!

Here's One gal after loosing her arm and leg in an attack used her 'fin' to reach shore....but she died in the hospital from the shock of the attack.

I thought so too - he was a freelance writer.
I don’t know yet what she did - except escape.
I have thoughts he was distracting the shark so she could swim away ‘initially’.

I dunno. I’d like to think you or I would do that, I’d also like to think he would, and did.

But I think it’s more likely he didn’t even see it coming.

.......”But I think it’s more likely he didn’t even see it coming”......

That’s equally so - if not more likely actually.
