Vladimir Putin was never the Soviet super spy he'd like us to believe. He was merely a KGB 'errand boy,' report says

Russian President Vladimir Putin was likely never the elite Soviet spy that the world has been led to believe, an investigaton by the German news outlet Der Spiegel has revealed.

-snip-

according to Der Spiegel's report, the majority of Putin's work was actually limited to "banal" administrative tasks.

Citing one of Putin's former colleagues at the KGB's Dresden office, it says his "work consisted primarily of endlessly reviewing applications for West German relatives' visits or searching for potential informants among foreign students at Dresden University."

The report says that Putin is rarely mentioned in Stasi — the name of the East German secret police — records. In those that do reference him, it is only in regards to things like his birthday or administrative tasks, none provide evidence to back up the stories mentioned previously.

Horst Jehmlich, a former Stasi officer who also worked in Dresden, told Der Spiegel that Putin was nothing more than an "errand boy."

Vlad Putin -— The original GloboHomo. Much of his success in climbing up the Russian greasy pole, is due to not drinking alcohol. While everyone else around you is swilling vodka. And in a polluted or semi-polluted state.

A paper pushing errand boy... Even Moneypenny would have more spy sense than Putin. Sadly, he won't even see it coming... One to the back of the head, or maybe it will be poison on a pen or piece of paper that he's handed... Regardless of how it happens, it will happen... The end is nigh for comrade Putin.

Vladimir Putin, conqueror of South Ossetia and Abzhakia, re-conqueror of Chechnya, and now trying to hold onto eastern part of Ukraine.

A regular Catherine the Great he is.

True of most people in intelligence agencies.

Buck Sexton was never James Bond.

Jack Bauer is the fantasy.

Chloe O’Brien was closer to the reality.

Why would the Stasi records have accurate info re KGB hierarchies?

Exactly. A spook friend of mine believes he saw Putin in central America when it was hot, in the 1980's.

https://www.moonofalabama.org/2023/06/ukraine-launches-its-counterattack.html#more

The long announced Ukrainian counter offensive has started. New Ukrainian units, never seen before, have come to the front.

The attack was launched by Ukraine for political reasons under pressure from its 'western' sponsors. Militarily it is unlikely to become successful but it will eat away at whatever is left of Ukraine's military capabilities.

Attacks happened all around the front. In the north towards Belgograd, to the east and, with the most forces, towards the south. There was so far little to no success in any of the attacks.

The daily report by the Russian Ministry of Defense list as Ukrainian losses over the last 24 hours 910 soldiers, 16 tanks, 33 armored combat vehicles/infantry fighting vehicle and some 30 trucks

So far only the most forward positions of Russian troops have been attacked. There are two to three well organized defense lines behind those. The Russians can fall back whenever needed and let the artillery and air force destroy their oncoming enemies.

Thats what I’ve always read about him too since he’s been in charge of Russia. I don’t know if he put out any kind of propaganda in Russia about his KGB days though.

THe hype that I heard was he is some kind of chess genius and knows how to move the pieces to his advantage. We have recently been told he does not use the internet or email. His failure to modernize will be the end of him. Already this lack of computer skills puts him hours behind in transmitting important info or orders. Activity on the battlefield waits for no man, especially one who is several hours behind in giving orders.

I never heard Putin was a "super spy", though I did hear from stupid lefties long ago that he was "head" of the KGB (confusing him with Andropov).

Does it even matter if he was literally an errand boy? Or that Harry Truman was a haberdasher?

I mention Harry Truman not because I think he was much like Putin in a general way, but he was the first (so far only) American to order a nuclear strike.

Putin as taxi driver:

“Where would you like to go, comrades?”

“Crimea.”

“I can do that. We will go directly through Ukraine, that pretend country.”

“You should run for president, comrade. Yeltsin is a buffoon.”

“Perhaps I will. Perhaps.”
