The House could pass the debt-ceiling deal agreed to by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., and President Joe Biden, but it might ultimately cost McCarthy his job if he has to have Democrat votes to do it, Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., warned Tuesday on Newsmax.
"The operative question there is whether or not the speaker can get to a majority of the majority," Gaetz told Tuesday's "The Chris Salcedo Show." "If a majority of Republicans are against a piece of legislation, and you use Democrats to pass it, that would immediately be a black-letter violation of the deal we had with McCarthy to allow his ascent to the speakership, and it would likely trigger an immediate motion to vacate.
"I think Speaker McCarthy knows that. That's why he's working hard to make sure that he gets 120, 150, 160 votes."

I know that is true. We vote for Patriots and keep ending up with the surrender caucus! I’m going to be making note of who votes for the bill, though. Because they will be showing that no matter what they say in their campaign ads, they will vote for whatever is best for THEM, rather than what is best for this country.
I could have probably lived with the rest of the stuff in the bill, but unlimited debt ceiling for 18 months, along with the failure to cut those 87,000 new IRS agents (some good pretend outrage that was!), to me shows what a disastrous bill this is for our nation. Pretty much the final nail in the coffin.
DeSantis came out and condemned the deal that Trump-endorsed RINO McCarthy negotiated.

When the little punk from Florida was in the House of Representatives he didn’t just endorse a Speaker of the House, he actually voted twice for the same guy.
The guy was Paul Ryan.
If McCarthy was the Speaker, he would’ve supported McCarthy. DeSantis does what he’s told and what people are telling him is stay away from economic & foreign policy issues and become the great “woke warrior.”
Being a woke warrior is much safer than taking on “The Money” that runs this country.
DeSantis isn’t going to be the nominee, he doesn’t have enough support. He has financial support but not voter support nation wide.
