10 or 12 of them jumped onto Marines. San Clemente beach and the pier is USMC turf. Next weekend the Marines will be out there in force. Unless the commander of camp Pendleton is a woman these days, or a Mangina.

When this type of stuff happens, the base commander will set a restriction on military members that they cannot go into town. After the first weekend weekend of lost revenue and the mayor and city council run to the base to beg the base commander to remove the restriction.
A smart base commander will ask for arrests and charges against the perpetrators.

My father-in-law was an Army drill sergeant. He told me how the recruits, after receiving training in hand-to-hand combat, thought they were tough, and would go into town to prove it, promptly getting their asses kicked by the locals.
But I doubt those locals were teenagers. The Marines in the article must have been outnumbered.

We have been going to San Clemente for Fourth of July for ten years now. The AirBnB we get is two short blocks from the pier.
Let's hope the Marines do the right thing to make sure this does not happen again.
