True. He slavishly obeyed the COVID dictates to some degree, including shutting down “non-essential” businesses and mandating useless masks in public locations, unlike much more freedom-honoring, conservative governors like DeSantis. Abbott merely aped the gestures of true conservative leaders months after they lead the way.
