Biden Spent $1 Billion To Get Schools Electric Buses. This Michigan District Says Theirs Hardly Work.
Washington Free Beacon ^ | May 24, 2023 | Collin Anderson

Michigan's fourth-largest school district is having "significant" performance issues with its expensive electric buses, issues that come after the Biden administration spent $1 billion to "transform America's school bus fleet" with electric models.

During an April 19 presentation to the Ann Arbor Public Schools Board of Education, the district's environmental sustainability director, Emile Lauzzana, highlighted a number of issues with the district's electric bus fleet. Those buses, Lauzzana said, have "a lot of downtime and performance issues" and aren't "fully on the road," despite the fact that they are "approximately five times more expensive than regular buses." The infrastructure upgrades required to use the buses, meanwhile, were "originally estimated to be only about $50,000" but "ended up being more like $200,000," according to Lauzzana. "I have a number of colleagues in different states who are facing similar challenges," the district official lamented. "For the school bus market, it's been challenging for us."

“Biden Spent $1 Billion To Get Schools Electric Buses. This Michigan District Says Theirs Hardly Work.”

Why should anyone care whether they work? That’s not the point of Electric Buses.

This is the kind of crap that drives me nuts. They spend a fortune on ideology, without a care as to whether what they’re buying actually works.

I like “this administration is nothing more than a collection of phreaks, phags, and phanatics.” (special spelling evades the automated spelling police)

Every ‘person’ put on the payroll since the election was stolen by Cho Bi Dung fits one or more of those words. This is Obama’s third go-round and everything about it is nothing more than a middle finger to normal USA citizens.

Emile almost sounds concerned there.

This is spreading to California as well - where the government can’t keep the constantly overloaded, and out-of-date electrical grid operational.

What happens when there are “rolling blackouts,” warning not to plug in EV b/c the system is overloaded or the utility company shuts down the entire grid due to “high winds?”

If technological civilization survives, electric everything is almost a certainty.

"Biden" (his handlers really) has the approach electric everything first, generating capacity later (or never).

Comment on the specific story: I want to know the political connections of whoever sold the electric busses.

Can’t you just see it???? Out on the battle field and the U.S. tank commander tells the enemy to hold his fire until the U.S. tank commander can have time to charge up his electric tank. Yep, that would be about ‘Pedo-Biden’s” speed and also the speed of General Milly, and the screwball that will be replacing him.

The newly elected mayor of Boston Michele Wu decided to convert 20 buses to electric.

“Mayor Michelle Wu announced Monday morning that Boston will soon be replacing some of the city's diesel school buses with 20 electric ones.

Months after Wu's announcement last April, the city reported that it will spend around $7 million from COVID relief funds and the city's budget to back the first step of Wu's campaign promise to convert all BPS buses to electric by 2030.”

So, the stupid is very contagious among the liberal politicians. She also continues to convert parts of the city to bike lanes. Making traffic even worse in many places. The problem is NOBODY rides a bike in Boston in the winter.

Your first mistake was assuming that BeijingBiden’s “spending” equates to actual monies making its way to the problem. Never forget the 10% cut that goes into his pocket.

This is what our property taxes are paying for?

Congratulations! You also get to pay for buses and charging stations that are way over budget, and do not meet performance requirements. This is, in microcosm, the future which the democRATs want to force on all of us.
