"And DeSantis won his reelection."

LOFL.

1) Charlie "Limp Wristed" Crist, a graduate of one of the lower 30-tier law schools, and after taking three attempts to pass the bar, was defeated as GOP State Senate candidate in 1986, losing in a runoff.

2) In 1992, Crist won as a GOP State Senate candidate in the Florida 20th.

3) In 1998, Crist lost as the GOP sacrifice to Florida Senator Bob Graham, losing by 26 points.

4) In 2008, Crist endorsed McCrisis and supported Florida moving their primary to January (lol).

5) In 2010, Crist left the GOP. He ran against Foam Boy for the Senate seat as an unaffliated candidate, losing to Rubio by nearly 20 points.

6) In 2012, Crist endorsed Obama.

7) In 2014, Rick Scott beat Crist for Governor of Florida, and as wiki notes: "Crist holds the rare distinction of losing a statewide general election in Florida as a Republican, a Democrat and an Independent"

8) Aug. 2022, Crist resigned from Congress.

In other words, RDS beat Crist The Tomato Can, Florida's perennial toe-tapping, down-low, also-ran man.

Trump is so weak he couldn’t even stop a walking dead Biden. Show me one bit of evidence it would any different in 2024. You can’t.

I liked DS for a long time. It's been disappointing watching him align with the worst people in the GOP. Imagine, he actually got the Liz Cheney endorsement; along with so many who have done harm to the country.

Those people he aligned with hate conservatives, and kowtow to the left.

He's not done well since he began this run. His poll numbers, along with his ability to stand strong, have dropped significantly in the past month leading up to this announcement. I'm betting he will be passed by Vivek R within a month, because Vivek unashamedly supports the concepts of MAGA.

I believe he's made a huge mistake in running now, much like Cruz did. The advisors he has appointed, that whisper in his ear that he needs to come against Trump rather than support him are doing him no favors. Had he waited, he would have done better.

I do not hate him, but he has shown himself to be untrustworthy in the last month. He's not ready for this and should have known it.

This guy is Scott Walker, running to be Goobernor of the United States, not President. The guy is walking around stepping into rakes, unforced errors, he is patiently waiting on everyone to overexplain everything to him.

The contrast to Trump pulling the ears off every interviewer and dominating every interview could not be more stark.

Look right in the mirror, Ronlims -- it ain't pretty...

How Scott Walker's Hubris Killed His Campaign

"Every failed presidential campaign is a how-the-mighty-have-fallen story: a politician once strong or deluded enough to think he could lead the nation, humbled by the reality of the electorate’s indifference.

But Scott Walker’s fall was especially precipitous. The Wisconsin governor’s campaign lasted just 70 days. He came in as the Iowa frontrunner and departed a few weeks later as an asterisk, with too little support even to be assigned a number in the last national poll.

Walker started out strong—perhaps too strong. Speaking to a conservative confab in Iowa back in January, his lively but common-sense appeal made a major impression among conservatives in the early-voting state, and he rocketed into first place in a field that was just starting to take shape. (Though there wasn’t much doubt that he was running, Walker, citing his gubernatorial duties, wouldn’t officially declare his campaign until July.)

On paper, he seemed like an ideal candidate: He’d won three tough elections in a state generally dominated by Democrats, including a recall in 2012. His battles with public-sector unions had impressed national conservatives like the Koch brothers. He was a conservative who’d governed while taking on the status quo—a potent mix for a party whose restive base was tired of compromising and losing.

But Walker’s unexpected early success was whatever you call the opposite of a blessing in disguise—a curse in disguise, perhaps. It made him overconfident, removing the incentive to put his head down, study policy, and work for votes, while training a harsh spotlight on his every utterance. Those utterances frequently made audiences and the media do double takes, as when he refused to say whether he considered President Obama a Christian, or when he claimed to be ready to take on the Islamic State because he’d taken on the unions."

I’ve been listening, deSantis sounds great. Very articulate, focused, and incredibly knowledgable. Trump speeches sound like a 3rd grader in comparison.

And how is the fact the Twitter servers were overwhelmed with supporters the first few minutes something negative for DeSantis? It’s not like Twitter is his, like Truth is Trump’s. That product launch was delayed over and over, then still broken when launched. THAT was embarrassing, not this.
