RIP, Anna Mae. Thanks for the music.
My mother-in-law, my mom and my aunt all lived well past 95+…my aunt was going to be 100 in a month until Covid got her.
That was good! Great band! I cannot place the guitar players name, but I am pretty sure he worked with Fleetwood Mac when Buckingham was absent and pretty sure he worked with Bob Seeger at one time.
Great photo of General Eisenhower; thank you.
Perfect image of the “happy warrior”.
Tina Turner was truly a force of nature. She was one of the few artists who I personally admired as a human being. She endured a rough upbringing and, as everyone knows, went through Hell during her marriage to Ike.
She never whined nor complained. She simply picked herself up and persevered through patience and hard work until she achieved the success that she so deserved.
She was also astute enough to stay out of politics and the obsession over race. She just focused on her career and did her thing.
IMHO, She was the epitome of a strong and powerful woman. She was the very definition of a “survivor”. She endured hardships and emerged a winner.
RIP, Ms. Turner. You were “ Simply The Best”.
“I don’t think blacks liked her.”
Interesting opinion...
What brought you to that conclusion?
Considering she dated and then married a white man, and also exclusively did duets with white guys, I could see some blacks considering her as a ‘race traitor’.
Of course, she didn’t give a flip about what anybody thought.
Ditto that. Another huge loss. The great ones are getting thinned out pretty fast, and only a smattering coming up to replace them... :-(
Good riddance to pop trash.
Thank you FRiend. I had never seen this one, but it was exactly what I was looking for. She was a true force of nature, with so much joy seeing her through so much pain.
Go with God ma’am.
