Evidently the truck owner wasn't willing to let his truck be stolen.
“Let the police respond”….. how long does that take? Or do the police just fill out forms the next day…. See police response, forms filled out, have safe day citizen.
Darn shame one of the thieves survived.
Well, good he stopped the crime in progress, hope he can show he shot in self-defense. At least one of the two criminals won’t be preying upon people again. The other, I hope she has a long, life long, time in jail.
Very unfortunately...unless his life was also in danger...he might be screwed.
Your car / truck is your horse.
If the stolen truck was heading right at the owner, he’s probably okay (depending on the DA). Otherwise, he’s in trouble. And his legal fees will probably end up being way more than the cost of the truck.

Horrible title
Yes, but LE/Justice System today don’t recognize those values anymore.
Would be an unquestioned shoot if he was in Texas.
“Your car / truck is your horse.”
Darn tootin’.
Especially your truck.
My cars still have that yute anti-theft device; a manual tranny.
SAME here-—4 speed Granny low==STUMP PULLER
Much of the time, they don’t show up or call.
Never call the police after shooting a criminal.
WA state has a no pursuit law. Chances are good they wouldn’t respond to the call at all, and if they did they can’t pursue th thieves and the truck. They’d nicely take down the info and he’d never see his truck again. But now he’ll be up for a murder, and attempted murder charges. The consequences of a lawless society.
A long time ago, my 1963 tricked-out Chevy Impala coupe was stolen in San Francisco. Called the cops, filled out a form, and waited. A couple days later, a friend working for the police department told me he saw my car towed into the police impound lot, intact with the wheels and all. So I went to the police station and asked, they then told me it was found (only after I asked), and I got a release form.
At the police impound lot, the employees told me I would need a flatbed trailer to take my car, that it was stripped of wheels and engine parts. I told them that I had proof it was brought in intact, that I would be back later in the day, and all parts better be restored or I would be contacting the DA's office about them.
Came back late in the day, all the parts were back on the car. Do not trust the cops!
Looked to see what state the town was located in ... probably screwed as the state is Washington State, a vassal state of California.
