Target's CEO has defended the company's controversial 'tuck friendly' female swimwear line, insisting the woke product rollout will be a success.
The retail giant sparked backlash after releasing a new line of clothing to celebrate Pride month in June, which includes a label advertising 'tuck-friendly construction' and 'extra crotch' coverage. The design is made to help conceal a person's private parts.
Despite facing sharp criticism for the release, which also includes items for babies and children, CEO Brian Cornell told Fortune's Leadership Next podcast he approved of the campaign.
'When we think about purpose at Target, it’s really about helping all the families, and that "all" word is really important,' he said.
'Most of America shops at Target, so we want to do the right thing to support families across the country.'
Cornell's remarks came as he was pressed on criticisms the company faced in the aftermath of its rollout.
'I think those are just good business decisions, and it’s the right thing for society, and it’s the great thing for our brand,' Cornell said.
'The things we’ve done from a DE&I (diversity, equity, and inclusion) standpoint, it’s adding value.

One of the few nice things about Canada is Target came in big time and opened stores nationwide a few years ago and fell flat on its face. They thought they could be an upscale version of Walmart. They lasted a couple of years and pulled out never to return.
One thing that has INFURIATED me about Target -
they forced women to accept MEN in the female restrooms and changing rooms.
HOWEVER, they introduced children’s shopping carts and there was an uproar and THEY IMMEDIATELY MADE A HUGE SHOW OF ‘LISTENING TO OUR CUSTOMERS’ AND REMOVED THEM.

Perhaps, but I think many, if not the majority, of them do not really believe they are the opposite sex. In fact, they are homosexuals who hate the opposite sex. That is why drag queens are so over-the-top. They are mocking women. They are also shaking their fists at God. They mock God by taking Christian symbols, such as the rainbow, and making it their own.

On the other hand, if you stay the course, don’t lose your resolve, boycott ALL Anheuser-Busch products and ALL Target stores, drive them both all out of business, it will be a lesson to the rest of them. DO NOT underestimate the willingness of the American public to use their wallets to voice their moral values.
