Bakhmut Citadel area has fallen to the Russians
Asia Times ^

Posted on 05/20/2023 3:57:22 AM PDT by FarCenter

The entire Bakhmut Citadel area has fallen to the Russians, and the Children’s Hospital area also has been taken.

The last part of the city remaining uncaptured is a small corner close to the Ukrainian flank operation facing Ivanjske. This area straddles an important roadway.

At this stage I don’t see much point for the Ukrainians continuing other than to evacuate any troops remaining.

...

Meanwhile Ukraine is keeping up its flank operations (north and south of Bakhmut) and the Russian army so far is not doing much about these operations. It appears the Russians now see them as diversionary.

Ukrainian propaganda is saluting the successes on the flanks and has nothing to say at all about what has happened in the city proper. This is not surprising, as they expect their line to be broadcast to the world, hiding what is really happening.

The impact on Zelensky is yet to come. He is heading out to attend the G-7 in Japan, probably to avoid repercussions at home. The official reason for his trip, to seek armaments, seems a fool’s errand.

Can’t see the Russians ever giving up, but can see them aligning with China, Iran, and perhaps other Middle Eastern countries to get the job done.
——-
They already have. Add the Brics, India ,South America and Africa. 65 percent of the world’s population. Much written in world financial news about these events.

For the first two or three years of World War II, Nazi propaganda was more trustworthy than British propaganda.

Your points 6 and 7 are particularly laughable.

Maybe Prizhogin can send our US Congress members and Biden autographed Bakmut flags?

I would love to see that happen. It would be a good reminder to them about US’s endless war mentality. US hegemony is dying, get used to it.

Thanks Joe.

15:14 20th May. Bahkmut has fallen to the Russians.

Ukraine lost Bakhmut today. Ukraine is losing........ F16 requires time and training, and worse still, American troops or European troops may be piloting them. Which could mean WW3. A nuclear war over Ukraine where millions could die on all sides is what these supposed warmongering leaders are begging for.

Have you ever looked into the actual facts or validity behind these talking points which you cut and pasted from some neocon source? Most people simply internalize as truth whatever they hear repeated often enough. Take, for example the “Ukraine is the the breadbasket or Europe” meme. Its bovine feces. Europe imports virtually no Ukrainian wheat. Most of it goes to Asia and as for breadbaskets, Russia is the breadbasket of the world, accounting for 18% of all exports. Shall we continue down the list?

“ We’re not talking about Eastern Syria, and Russia is in Syria by a factor of 50 compared to us. In fact, for a time Russia brought Syrian jihadists to fight in Ukraine.”

Again you are cutting and pasting neocon mind viruses without thinking critically. Russia is in Syria by a factor of FIVE not 50 and the numbers are small(5,000 Russian Federation troops actually invited by the Syrian government to defend against 1,000 American insurgency operatives acting as force multipliers arming and directing thousands of jihadists to plunge the country into civil war. Assad is an enemy because, you guessed it, he leads a country that is an ally of Russia. America will not tolerate mutual coexistence among peers or near peers. That’s the first rule of the “international rules based order” pulled out of Langley’s rectum and sent to the legacy media for amplification.

“...but are people stupid enough to believe them? Yes. We have plenty of them here on FR to prove that.”

Most have been here for a long time and have links to unbiased information. They know the truth, but for various reasons (operatives, whipped, Cold-Warrior, etc.) they simply carry forward the lies of the Western Media.

“National security”

Lol.

Our borders are wide open to foreign invaders.

Our major institutions have been taken over by sex perverts and anti-white racists.

Our energy policy is controlled by leftist crazies who want us to freeze in the dark and ride horses and buggies or rickshaws.

Focus on what matters. The war is here.

I would also urge the utmost scepticism when you come across the words: “experts, safety, misinformation, disinformation and conspiracy theory. Those are propaganda terms direct from the security state’s lexicon and aimed at civil liberties.

Amen, brother!

Your list of outright lies, deception, and media mind-control of the masses is a short list (very short). It's been happening to us for decades and it's finally so ridiculous that even an out-and-out moron can figure it out.

Ever wonder why they keep it up? I know, 'cause it works!

I'm not sure it is likely to change any time soon, either. It's people like you and me, along with a few others here on FR, that must be alert enough to separate the "wheat from the chaff" and act accordingly.

I’m reminded of that age-old strategic maxim, endlessly repeated since the time of Sun-Tzu through Clausewitz and beyond, taught in every military school across the planet, “He who controls Bakhmut holds the key to conquering the world.”

With this galactically stupendous historic accomplishment* the Russians are now the unchallenged rulers of the globe.

*If true.

Please tell us the “security implications” that required America to create, finance and direct the ongoing Ukraine slaughter thousands of mile from home when it’s in the grip of its own civil war, financial crisis and pornified decay.

Brilliant question! Waiting for the rebuttal...guessing it will be "you know the thing".

The reaction of other nations and cultures, ranging from outright opposition to passive aggressive behavior, was entirely predictable.

You sure got that right! But, don't forget his son that came along in 2000. He sure did his part to carry on the tradition.

Also, I'm not too sure it was "passive," as noted by a few of the military and covert invasions noted below....
-Iraq
-Afghanistan
-Serbia
-Libya
