On May 3rd, 2021, Florida GOP Governor Ron DeSantis signed Senate Bill 2006 into law, giving state health authorities massive power over the people of Florida, while authorizing the imprisonment and forced injection of anyone deemed a risk by those authorities. At the time of the bill’s signing, DeSantis and others in Florida’s government presented it as a ban on so-called “vaccine passports,” but buried within the legislation is an unprecedented attack on the civil liberties of American Citizens.
Only the GOP vote ever gets split in elections.
Dems vote for the party candidate under the penalty of death.
But this is moot since the Dems have perfected the Steal with nothing to stop them.
I am of the belief that two great inventions underly our country's former prosperity and happiness, the common law and public health. The actions of our deep state public health bureaucracy has done as much to undermine my faith in the value of modern medical practice as the FBI and DOJ to my belief in the underlying values of American justice.
This country has fallen down a steep rocky slope in recent years. I don't know whether arresting the fall or reaching our demise with a loud and painful thud at the bottom is the fastest path to rebuilding what used to be a great country before we decided we wanted to rule the world instead of following the Socratic prescription to rule ourselves.
Trump never was for mandates. Your analogy is false.
Did he not read what he signed into law?
Wonder how many of them are still alive?
Or just an article stating facts.
That would be a double-edged sword, politically, because it would acknowledge that he made a mistake to begin with and could be portrayed as an example of someone who changes his positions easily for political expediency.
Going to the link the site provided, it doesn’t match the story. Its talking about natural disasters
Perhaps you should go to the link in the story. I didn’t see anything about vaccines. I did see things to do with hurricanes
Trump gave us Fauci
He knows now but his colossal pride won’t allow him to say sorry folks, I was wrong about this.
Totally agree with you.
My experience has been that DeSantis has done a lot of GREAT things for Florida.
Those who damn the guy as a demonic leftist ... I just can’t listen to them, considering what I’ve literally SEEN him literally DO.
I think you make a good comparison analogy with the corrupted justice and corrupted medicine examples.
"buried within the legislation is an unprecedented attack on the civil liberties of American Citizens"
A 1905 case before the U.S. Supreme Court confirmed:
A state may enact a compulsory vaccination law, since the legislature has the discretion to decide whether vaccination is the best way to prevent smallpox and protect public health. The legislature may exempt children from the law without violating the equal protection rights of adults if the law applies equally among adults.

208 (4) It is further the intent of the Legislature to minimize
209 the negative effects of an extended emergency, such as a
210 pandemic or another public health emergency. The Legislature
211 recognizes that there are significant negative impacts on
212 children and families associated with school closures during a
213 public health emergency such as the COVID-19 pandemic. The
214 Legislature also recognizes the significant negative impacts of
215 such emergencies on the economy due to business closures.
216 (5) It is further the intent of the Legislature that all
217 aspects of emergency preparedness, response, and recovery be
218 made transparent to the public to the greatest extent possible.
The bill makes clear:
1056 (d) The State Health Officer, upon declaration of a public
1057 health emergency, may take actions that are necessary to protect
1058 the public health. Such actions include, but are not limited to:
1097 4. Ordering an individual to be examined, tested,
1098 vaccinated, treated, isolated, or quarantined for communicable
1099 diseases that have significant morbidity or mortality and
1100 present a severe danger to public health. Individuals who are
1101 unable or unwilling to be examined, tested, vaccinated, or
1102 treated for reasons of health, religion, or conscience may be
1103 subjected to isolation or quarantine.
1104 a. Examination, testing, vaccination, or treatment may be
1105 performed by any qualified person authorized by the State Health
1106 Officer.
1107 b. If the individual poses a danger to the public health,
1108 the State Health Officer may subject the individual to isolation
1109 or quarantine. If there is no practical method to isolate or
1110 quarantine the individual, the State Health Officer may use any
1111 means necessary to vaccinate or treat the individual.
Reality/truth, I doj’t say it as an excuse. Put it this way, I don’t believe for one second Trump wanted millions to die from these shots. I do believe those in charge of this plus the big pharma companies did, and/or did not care if they did. Incredibly huge difference.
We have thoroughly corrupted two necessary and formerly honorable and learned professions.
I still am not sure if he truly understands the magnitude of just how deadly these shots were.
“Everyone needs to read the latest Gorsuch decision. The man does a brilliant job of reminding us of the wisdom of the ages engrained in our founding charters, and that careful reflection, consideration and reconsideration are a part of wise governance, not standing behind knee-jerk initial imperial decrees.”
That was indeed a well-written opinion on the freedoms that were denied to us as a nation over the past few years.
I posted an excerpt of it last night, but it received only a few responses. The link is here:

One of my great criticisms of the legal reporting industry is that they write about opinions sumarizing them, often badly, always in accurately, incompletely and out of context and almost never with a link to the actual opinion.
And of course SC decisions are often examples of the best and clearest writing in the English language, thoroughly researched and edited by some of the smartest legal minds in the country, but ultimatley written in the voice of the assigned author, and some SC justices are brilliant scintillating writers of the highest caliber.
