Nancy Mace: GOP Will ‘Suffer in 2024’ Because of Abortion Laws
Breitbart ^ | 5/17/23 | Pam Key

Posted on 05/18/2023 3:50:57 AM PDT by cotton1706

Representative Nancy Mace (R-SC) said Wednesday on CNN’s “The Lead” that the Republican Party will “suffer” in the 2024 election because of several red state legislatures’ abortion bans.

Anchor Jake Tapper said, “Do you think your party will face any sort of electoral blowback for these bans, many of which do not align with polling in terms of what people want, even in conservative states people want in many polls some sort of middle ground, maybe a 12-week ban, a 15-week ban, no ban for victims of rape and incest. Do you think your party will suffer at the polls?

Mace said, “We suffered in 2022, and I believe we’ll suffer in 2024 if we don’t have a message that shows compassion for women. You can balance the two. I would garner if you were to do a ballot referendum on abortion in a conservative state like South Carolina, the majority of voters would not be in support of a six-week ban that allowed very few exceptions for a short period of time and required women to have their rapes reported to the police. That’s not going to fly with most people, whether they’re men or women.

She added, “I saw this in my own district in a very purple district last year. I saw how the issue swayed voters. It was the number two issue in our race. I even ran TV ads talking about rape. I was probably the only Republican in the country who was willing to have that very uncomfortable conversation. I was willing to fight for women regardless of their circumstances, especially to the women who went through the worst.”

If Trump is the nominee the GOP will make sure that there is trouble and the same goes for Social Security and Medicare. The GOP will insist that cuts be made.

If all sexually active men and women practiced birth control, 95% of current abortions would be unnecessary.

That's a big IF when a lot of women say they are on birth control and they aren't. They get pregnant on purpose to trap the man. Then, when the man runs off they get an abortion because she can't take care of it. If men don't want babies they should get snipped.

Kids today probably don’t remember a time when journalists asked questions, rather than editorials with a question mark at the end.

It generally requires morally bankrupt men to participate in that sex.

But the point is correct. America as a nation is already dead because we ourselves have become corrupted to a high degree.

It would take a miraculous revival in faith to save it at this point.

saying he thought a 6 week ban, as supported by Desantis was “a bit severe”.

No. He said many pro life people thought 6 weeks was a bit severe. It’s important to to allow spin to be spread. It’s a slippery slope.

True it takes two BUT Women can say yes or no and with the advent of Women’s liberation and no consequence sex that marked the beginning of the end.

So basically we have to kill babies if we want to win, sorry I will take the lose here on earth then.

For what it is worth I disagree we are losing conservative strongholds specifically over abortions. I think it has much more to do with illegal immigration, liberals moving out of liberal cities they destroyed and overall voter fraud.

So your daughters chose economic destruction and world chaos over traveling for an abortion if their situation & decision do not meet the conditions for an abortion in their state?

The strength of America is 50 states - 50 laboratories for working out the best system for the people of that state. Your daughters are not stacking their priorities correctly for themselves & for their children. If they do not agree with the laws of their state work on those priorities w/i the system. That is their right now. If they don’t vote R they won’t have that right for long in the Democrat/Globalist system where laws and restrictions are mandated Nationally or Globally.

“She is right. We are losing even conservative strongholds.”

I don’t buy it. Despite ALL the leftism push, despite ALL the attacks on Trump and his supporters, despite the 2020 and 2022 elections (inclusive of the fraud), Republicans currently control:

59% of legislative chambers (58 out of 99)

56% pf state senate seats (1,111 out of 1,973)

54% of state house seats (2,944 out of 5,413)

52% of governors seats (26 out of 50)

51% of US House seats (222 out of 435)

49% of US Senate seats (49 out of 100)

Republicans are the majority party. And abortion is an issue that got us there. We need not fear the issue.

Mace is nervous because she likes her job and apparently doesn’t like ACTUALLY standing for anything (to keep her position safe).

You’ve gotta admit Nancy Mace is easy on the eyes. She’s gets hit on more than most women. An ardent pro-life stance doesn’t buy her anything. Cuts into her potential fun as all women are aware of.

Her opinion is needed to balance our opposition to idiots such as Lindsey Graham. He blurts out a call for national abortion ban right when we need formulate a follow-up response. Just before an election. Stupid cut calculated on his part. You see these politicians always say $hit they don’t believe. Scarboro was a member of the freshman class of ‘94(think Contract).

Sc is a red state but I respect her more than Linda. He’s getting stale.

It has become very obvious to me that the American people just don’t care much for children. They don’t have a problem with murdering unborn children. They don’t seem to mind them getting mutilated by doctors either. They even leave them strapped into hot cars in the summertime while they shop. What a sad situation we as a country are in.

”it’s been sent back to the states where it belongs.” Now let each state decide.

The State of Florida decided. And Trump saw fit to defecate on its decision.

This decision should be between the parents and their doctor.

That is the pro-abortion position. Thank you for stating your position clearly. Now we all know.
