Sen. John Fetterman's (D-PA) team is calling out detractors who mocked the senator's health struggles while questioning witnesses at a hearing on Tuesday.
The junior Pennsylvania senator's team says they have been "clear and open" about his "auditory processing challenges" as Fetterman recovers from a stroke he suffered last year, adding that doctors "expect his abilities to improve."
“For many months, we have been clear and open about the fact that John still faces challenges with auditory processing challenges as a result of his stroke. His doctors expect his abilities to improve, but in the meantime, if pathetic losers want to make fun of someone who struggles with speech as the result of a stroke, that’s up to them,” Joe Calvello, communications director for Fetterman, told the Washington Examiner.
While questioning the former Silicon Valley Bank CEO and other bank executives, Fetterman struggled at times with his speech when asking whether they believe it is "a running joke" that the government will always bail out a bank when it fails.
Clips of the Pennsylvania Democrat questioning the former bank executives circulated online, and some people mocked Fetterman's speech patterns during the exchange.
Fetterman has been back working in the Senate for a month, after he checked himself into Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in February for treatment for clinical depression. In an interview with CBS Sunday Morning last month, Fetterman discussed his battle with depression.
"It’s like, you just won the biggest, you know, race in the country," Fetterman said. "And the whole thing about depression is that objectively you may have won, but depression can absolutely convince you that you actually lost. And that’s exactly what happened, and that was the start of a downward spiral."
Fetterman was elected in November 2022, only months after he suffered a nearly fatal stroke. The junior Pennsylvania senator uses special closed-captioning tools and professional transcribers in real time to assist him in his duties in the Senate.
Not capable of doing the job. It’s not a charity.
I'd add Feinstein to that list.
during her 35 plus years as a therapist my wife worked with literally hundreds of stroke patients. The general rule was that after six months, they were at maximum recovery potential. At that point, any further improvements would be minute, at best. Fetterman is at one year from his stroke. He will not be getting any better.
Kroft: “My understanding is that you went . . . went out, in fact, and helped in the confiscation of property from the Jews.”
Soros: “Yes, that’s right. Yes.”
Kroft: “I mean, that’s — that sounds like an experience that would send lots of people to the psychiatric couch for many, many years. Was it difficult?”
Soros: “Not, not at all. Not at all. Maybe as a child you don’t . . . you don’t see the connection. But it was — it created no — no problem at all.”
Kroft: “No feeling of guilt?”
Soros: “No.”
Kroft: “For example, that, ‘I’m Jewish, and here I am, watching these people go. I could just as easily be these, I should be there.’ None of that?”
Soros: “Well, of course . . . I could be on the other side or I could be the one from whom the thing is being taken away. But there was no sense that I shouldn’t be there, because that was — well, actually, in a funny way, it’s just like in the markets — that if I weren’t there — of course, I wasn’t doing it, but somebody else would — would — would be taking it away anyhow. And it was the — whether I was there or not, I was only a spectator, the property was being taken away. So the — I had no role in taking away that property. So I had no sense of guilt.”
He then states that he does not believe in God when Kroft asks. He said he thinks god was invented by man and not the other way around.
Fetterman ran for office because he wanted the fat salary and the Medical benefits made him run for office. The Marxist Dems wanted him because he is almost robotic and easily controlled.
I am glad his team is hitting back. The only thing that guy is hitting is the floor.
He's almost a vegetable. Fetterman is one cherry tomato shy of a stew.
I’m sure there are other Trifecta’s....but Biden, Harris, and Fetterman are perfect for each other....
Also makes him the perfect Democrat back bencher.
The only pathetic losers here are:
Uncle festerneck
Anyone who works for Uncle festerneck
Every single pos who voted for Uncle festerneck.
Oh. That’s ok then. A Senator who can’t do his basic duties. But it’s okay because recovery or something. How about we put half-paralyzed pilots back in the chair? It’s okay because they are in therapy
It’s not like being a Senator is hard, just vote the way they tell you to vote.
They just need a body with rudimentary functionality. Next, they will start electing actual monkeys. They are much cheaper to feed.
The long hours spent on vacation fact finding trips and late nights getting wined and dined is grueling.
“My ex-wife was tarded, she’s a pilot now.”
“Auditory processing challenges” means he has trouble understanding what is being said to him. In the clips, Fetterman is having obvious difficulty in choosing words he’s trying to say. He is having trouble with both input and output.
And since most of our thoughts are in the form of words, who is to say that Fetterman even has the ability to think properly? I am not writing this as a joke or a political jab at someone I disagree with. He apparently cannot easily process words
“...if pathetic losers want to make fun of someone who struggles with speech as the result of a stroke”
I’m picturing someone paralyzed by a stroke being entered in an Olympic foot race. Would pointing out the absurdity of the situation make one a ‘pathetic loser’?
Did he just watch White Men Can't Jump? Reminds me of Gloria as she expounds on winning and losing.
