Exsqueeze me but the accepted timeframe for Moses receiving the 10 Commandments is the 13th Century BC, and is that not also "proof" that he Israelites were literate, either that or "the God YHW" mistook them for being so.

Having some priests be literate does not mean that Israelites in general were literate.
