Russia-Ukraine war live: Russian retreat in Bakhmut ‘highlights shortage of credible combat units’

Ukrainian forces have regained at least a kilometre of territory in Bakhmut amid a Russian withdrawal that reflects its “severe shortage of credible combat units”, the latest UK intelligence briefing has said.

The Ministry of Defence said that over the past four days, elements of Russia’s 72nd separate motor rifle brigade (72 SMRB) likely withdrew “in bad order” from their positions on the southern flank of the Bakhmut operation.

The area was tactically significant because it was a Russian bridgehead on the western side of the Donets-Donbas canal, which marked the frontline through parts of the area, the ministry said in its update, posted on Twitter.

72 SMRB is an element of Russia’s 3rd Army Corps, a formation created in autumn 2023 and dogged with allegations of poor morale and limited combat effectiveness.

Its deployment to such a demanding and operationally important sector highlights Russia’s severe shortage of credible combat units.

Ukraine Receiving Storm Shadow Cruise Missiles + the Propaganda Storm around Bakhmut

Update on the conflict in Ukraine for May 13, 2023:

- Russian media space panics over false claims of Ukraine’s offensive beginning;

- The trading of territory in Bakhmut is typical of urban combat operations and does not indicate a “momentum shift” until the vector sum of the fighting begins favoring Ukraine rather than Russian forces;

- Additional evidence has surfaced that Ukraine is using some of its best military hardware in and around Bakhmut including German-made self-propelled howitzers, indicating that Russian plans to draw in and destroy Ukraine’s best troops and equipment is working;

- Ahead of Ukraine’s offensive, both sides are conducting long-range strikes. For Russia it is about disrupting Ukraine’s offensive potential. For Ukraine it is about shaping the psychological and media landscape of the conflict;

- The Storm Shadow cruise missile is air-launched and for targets deep inside Russian territory to be under threat, Ukrainian warplanes must travel dangerously close ot the line of contact and expose themselves to Russian air defenses. The missiles themselves must circumvent Russian air defense systems and electronic warfare measures;

- The terrain mapping feature most likely will require intelligence sharing between Ukraine and the US-UK in order to make the missile’s use most effective;

- While Storm Shadow missiles and other long-range weapons Ukraine may have will inevitably make it through to their targets these are not capabilities Russia doesn’t already have and in greater abundance. If these are war-winning capabilities, Russia is going to win the war first;

Its only ‘ethnic’ because the Russians deported all the Ukrainians.

Actually it was the expulsion of the native Tartar population combined with the immigration of Russians under Stalin. Russians only became a significant part of the population (28%) in the 1864 census. In the prior census of 1850 they were only 7% of the population. They became a majority in the 1959 census when the Tartars were replaced by Russians under Stalin. In any case, Crimea is not an historically Russian majority province.

When the Orcs took Crimea in 2014, they got rid of the Ukrainians

“aiding and abetting the death of human beings”
That is being caused by resident Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine.
We are more concerned about the Nazi’s, Ivan.

Right, its not Russians who invaded who rob, rape and kill who are responsible, its Ukrainians who are putting up a defense. What a twisted mind you have.

A year after Russian state TV was openly debating whether or not Russia should kill 5% of the Ukrainian population or 15% (3-7 million depending on how the Revanchist defined Ukraine because they don't even agree on it), the figure of ten million was casually debated recently.

Russia isn't just responsible for the slaughter, they are quite happy to talk about levels of killing and oppressing Ukrainian civilians on a scale Europe has not seen since the Holocaust.

If the Russian state didn't agree with this genocidal talk they'd say something. Their silence speaks volumes.

Two lessons for the thickest mutts on Moscow's side to get their heads round...

1. Stop thinking Ukraine will cave in if the death toll on their own side hits a quarter mill. Or half a million. Or 1.5 million.

Stupid Russian genocide enthusiasts had already set the bar at 3 million even if Ukraine hadn't fired a shot after the razing of Mariupol. That is why it's existential to Ukraine. Stupid Russian genocide enthusiasts up the ante for Russian occupation to 5 million or more, so Ukraine knows that losing even a million more citizens and combatants would be a price worth paying to win. That's why Russia will lose.

2. Even now, nobody's talking about attacking Russia. If stupid chauvinists in Russia want to keep throwing bodies into Ukraine in pursuit of a ludicrous ideological fantasy, all we can do is honor the Budapest Memorandum. Which, lest the dumbshit pro Russian folks forget, was a promise Russia and the USA made to each other as much as it was a promise to Ukraine. Putin is a retard. He knew from day one in office that invading Ukraine could trigger the defense assurances. He did it anyway.

“ It’s amazing EVERYbody in the West has figured out that Bakhmut is simply a meat grinder NATO set up in which RUSSIANS keep marching themselves into.”

That is an “I know you are but what am I” retort. In the meantime over 1,000 men have died, three times that crippled and maimed.

“ So then they they know what a third rate society Russia is and even though they have the same ethnicity they do not want to be a part of Russia. When they are defeated that country will split up because most people in that country do not want to be apart of that society.”

You should spend your time trying to save America from oblivion instead of spewing lies on behalf of the Biden Regime and those that want us destroyed who are controlling it.
