Fox News picked Lawrence Jones to be the temporary replacement for the time slot that used to feature the highly rated Tucker Carlson, who was unceremoniously ousted a week ago.
Jones, 30, is considered to be the "youngest black solo host of a cable news show in history," according to the Daily Mail. Newsmax had Joe Pinion, now 39, as a host before he left the network to run for Senate to vie for the seat held by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y.
Jones, a self-described libertarian, is expected to host starting Monday night after Fox News has struggled to keep viewers in Carlson's time slot. Its audience plummeted from an average of 3.2 million viewers with Carlson to 2.6 million tuning in Monday, 1.7 million Tuesday, and just 1.3 million Wednesday.

Kat Timpf is a LITEWEIGHT AIRHEAD!
Didn’t know that; thanks.
Tucker needs to get his own platform. Like Joe Rogan.
Jones isn’t right for a permanent replacement for Tucker.
If that’s Fox’s idea, there 8pm slot will die on the vine.
Jones doesn’t have the gravitas to pull it off.
Fox has ruined their platform with this stupid move of removing Tucker.
But like most diehard leftist thinking, it’s better to be woke than successful.
Tucker is irreplaceable just like Rush was.
Much the same way the Left attributes homophobia to the refusal of men to date transvestites or transsexuals.
After seeing what FOX is really up to., I can see them as bad or worse than Bud Light.

He;s GAY???
Lol good points
I tended to like Lawrence Jones (when I was watching fox) but it looks like an affirmative action pick to me.
He ain’t no Tucker that’s for sure......but then again......who is?
LJ strikes me as a pretty decent person who was probably forced by management to fill in this week.
It’s pretty obvious he went to the Hannity School of Broadcasting judging by his interview of Ted Wheeler over the weekend, and apparently, Asa Hutchinson last night. Someone needs to tell him that interrupting is not interviewing.
My wife watches his Saturday show and is a big fan, but while he does a good job doing segments and MOS interviews, he’s not ready to anchor either on the weekends and especially prime time. He needs a few more years of experience as a serious reporter first.
Well said. Amen, I concur.
My commentary is more focused on the process of hiring someone that it is on the qualifications of that person.
I have always admired Col West, but not because he was a black man with conservative views, but because he stuck up for his men and fired a weapon near the ear of an insurgent with information that might protect his men.
I don’t know anything about this guy. He may be conservative, and if he is, I would embrace what he stands for, and him in the process.
But I won’t embrace what he stands for because he is black and conservative. If I do applaud him, it will be because he is conservative.
Jones is OK, but he’s no Tucker Carlson.
Marc Stein would’ve been an outstanding replacement for Tucker.

Stop Watching Fox!
In what capacity? He was 15 years old in 2008.
Well, he kind of beat up Asa Hutchinson last night. I’m still digesting that “interview”.
A two-year old could beat up Asa Hutchinson.
I stopped after Tucker left which allowed me to finish watching "1923". Now I'm done and will have to find another show that I enjoy. The problem with FOX is that every show is basically the same content with a different host. On top of that, I've already seen all the topics here on FR and get better commentary :)
I haven’t watched any US-based news media for years, and yet somehow I stay informed.
