Fox Picks Lawrence Jones as Tucker Carlson Successor

Fox News picked Lawrence Jones to be the temporary replacement for the time slot that used to feature the highly rated Tucker Carlson, who was unceremoniously ousted a week ago.

Jones, 30, is considered to be the "youngest black solo host of a cable news show in history," according to the Daily Mail. Newsmax had Joe Pinion, now 39, as a host before he left the network to run for Senate to vie for the seat held by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y.

Jones, a self-described libertarian, is expected to host starting Monday night after Fox News has struggled to keep viewers in Carlson's time slot. Its audience plummeted from an average of 3.2 million viewers with Carlson to 2.6 million tuning in Monday, 1.7 million Tuesday, and just 1.3 million Wednesday.

He started out 2..3 yrs ago doing interviews on the street..that sorta thing. I havent watched Cox in a long time, so dont know before this one. He was likeable and that might work for him.. if Fox has any viewers left

I watched the Lawrence Jones show thru the Asa Hutchinson interview. Asa deserved to be a guiena pig for Jones first time out. LJ is not ready for this prime time show but has potential. I tuned out when he was done interrupting Asa at every turn. Asa did not come across as a viable presidential candidate. Not that he really expects to win. I think that LJ lacks the experience that is needed for the type of show that the Tucker viewers were accustomed to. I wish LJ well however things turn out for him.

Tucker was the only program I watched and I will not suffer through some virtue signaling libertarian. Fox Business has that damn Kennedy on there and she is annoying as they come and I cannot stand her one bit.

Lawrence Jones is a good guy, but he’s an uncertain conservative. You always get the feeling he’s still finding where he stands on issues...30 is far too young for this role. He’ll cave often and do whatever corporate tells him...I’ll never forget when he piled on Trump for his Charlottesville comments.
