Over dozen Democrats in the state of Colorado voted against legislation that would make it a felony for anyone to indecently expose themselves to children.
What is Demcorat’s reasoning for voting against this proposed legislation?
It could lead to the banning of drag shows.
Yes, really.
It is currently considered a class 1 misdemeanor if someone indecently exposes themselves to a child in Colorado.
Speaking about the legislation, one of the Democratic Representatives, Leslie Herod, said, “These types of laws have been used to ban drag shows, to target individuals who use the restroom of the sex that they identify with—a public restroom—to charge them with felony charges.”
“I am very concerned about the attacks against the transgender community that are happening across the country,” she added.
“When I initially read this bill, it did not even come to mind for me either, as an advocate,” said Herod.
“But as I’ve looked at the bills and I’ve talked to my colleagues who are fighting these types of bills across the country, it is very clear to me the language is very much mirrored in some of the laws that have been used to target members of our community because of who they are.”
Fox News reported, Democratic representatives Dafna Michaelson Jenet and Shannon Bird introduced the bill in the state House, and Democrat Sen. Rachel Zenzinger and Republican Sen. Jim Smallwood led the Senate version of the measure.
Herod’s claims that the transgender community would “face attacks” to support her being opposed to the legislation is not only bizarre but totally false.
The bill has nothing to do with transgender people; it is about protecting children.
Despite the Democratic opposition, the bill passed, but with amendments to not apply the law if the exposure is in a public place with other adults present.

The key issue here is exposing the purpose of drag shows . . . to sexualize children. The left doesn't want anyone making that connection.

I don’t know the details of this bill, but one has to be very careful about new legislation because it is often written without rational regard. For instance what would happen if a child was accidentally exposed to a naked parent.

This is astonishing, breathtaking. How in the world can normal people justify adults exposing themselves to kids? And the Dems added an amendment making it ok to expose yourself as long as another adult is present? WTF?
I’ve asked myself many times over the past 30 years “Can it possibly get any worse?” and the answer, right up to today, is always “Yes, it can.” There seems to be no bottom to the depths of depravity in the USA.
How can any sane person stay in the Democrat party? Why hasn’t that vile party collapsed on itself to a poisoned, hollowed-out husk?

It is the behavior that is targeted, but who they are certainly inclines them to that behavior.

For a hundred years or more, “female impersonators” were an obscure entertainment for sexual perverts and traveling businessmen looking for “local color.” They were restricted to seedy bars in filthy parts of a few cities where all the vices were contained.
As you say, there is no reason for this garbage to have escaped those long-standing controls other than to groom children. We all know that child grooming is THE KEY component of the marxist cultural revolution’s goal of destroying the traditional nuclear family. Very few Americans have woken up to that fact.

I am not joking. I know someone who believes exactly these things. It’s as if they live in an inverted world.
In other words, there are no sane people in the Democrat party. They have all gone stark raving mad. The person you know is Exhibit #1.
When I was a teenager, 16/17, working Fast Food places, two of my co-workers were ‘Drag Queens’ at a local club in Jacksonville Beach.
They came in one night after their show in their costumes, I thought they just looked silly...............
