If only there were a few million more like you in this country...
That's how I got one of mine two years ago. She showed up at my house half starved. I put her picture on Facebook in the local group in case she was lost. I took her in because she acted like a housedog.
After FB didn't get many results, I called the shelter. The lady came out and checked her for a chip. She had one that had been inserted by the shelter. She called the former owner that adopted her two years prior, and found out that he dumped her on the side of the road. She was livid! She threatened him into giving her up and he agreed. I adopted her. The records showed that she was 10-years-old at the time, had always been a housedog, and was dumped on the road. She needed extensive dental work but two cleanings, three teeth pulled, and over $1200 later, she is fine. It took two weeks to purge her system of the roadkill she ate for two weeks while on the road. She gets her teeth brushed when the others do and is SO tolerant. She is in the house with mine and in the fenced yard when not in the house. I can't imagine what she could have done to make somebody dump her on the side of the road. She is the BEST dog ever. She immediately took up with my two Feists and even protects them. She will have a home here until she crosses the bridge.
People make me sick!
This is her.
Her new Christmas orthopedic bed last year. LOL
