Yes, but that would leave us unaccountable wouldn’t it?
And God says we are accountable.
He says for example that He hardened Pharoah’s heart. He also says Pharoah hardened his own heart. Both statements are true.
You have sinned. Was that God’s fault or yours? Be careful how you answer- eternity is at stake.
I like your response. When examining this guy’s Judgment, we should diligently examine our own lives and know that all of us deserve the exact same sentence that he will presumably receive.
Scripture confirms this in Romans and many other places. The only thing that we could ever do to receive forgiveness is a complete belief, confession, and sanctification in what Jesus did for us and who He is.
Someone posted up thread that Hitler could be in Heaven and ‘Mother’ Teresa could be in hell - yes very true. There are dozens of examples of horrible people who have turned to Jesus in the Bible for salvation. It’s an amazing thing.
People don’t understand that God loves us so much - even the vile murderous folks that he gives us enough time to repent and turn towards Him while there is time.
Time and longevity in one’s life is mercy. Every day is a new mercy. What folks do with it is on them.
None of us can run away from death and the impending doom it brings, but you can tun to Jesus to escape that final Judgment.
He loves all of us and will wait 90 years sometimes for a hard hearted vile person to find Him if necessary. The big problem is we don’t know when our number will be called.
Best be ready today, or NOW….

Agreed. We all fall short. Mysterium iniquitatis.
