Fox News’ Loss of Tucker Carlson Could Be Twitter’s Gain
The Daily Signal ^ | April 26, 2023 | Roman Jankowski

Tucker Carlson has been trending on Twitter this week, after being let go by Fox News on Monday.

If things go the way Elon Musk is planning, Carlson’s show would be trending every day on Twitter, because he has the potential to be the first megastar of Twitter’s new platform.

Carlson averaged about 3 million viewers per episode of “Tucker Carlson Tonight” weeknights on Fox News. Over the past year, the show’s lowest rating was 2 million viewers. The highest was 6 million.

The show’s popularity has not dwindled over the past year, and luckily for Carlson, he was ousted in his prime.

Many Twitter users were speculating that Carlson will want to go to a platform that won’t censor him, and articles have speculated that Carlson was being censored by Fox News.

Even Musk himself commented on Carlson’s ability to move to the platform.

Musk added to the speculation by stating that he wouldn’t apply any censorship unless it was required by law.

At the suggestion that Twitter should hire Carlson, Musk replied, “[W]e don’t hire anyone, but simply enable content creators to prosper on this platform without applying censorship that goes beyond the law.”

I posted a personal opinion yesterday, that I thought Tucker Carlson, should go to CNN. (please see: https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/4148161/posts)

I was wrong, Twitter would be better, and I found an article that says just that.

Tucker Carlson should end up on Twitter along with a cavalcade of free thinkers from all backgrounds and persuasions.

In fact, if something like this happens, it would be another indication that the changes in the world are being orchestrated by a higher power that is watching our planet closely.

Yes, it does come down to good and evil.

A platform where everyone on the planet can watch and weigh in without censorship or reprisal.

The dissemination of free speech throughout the world might be the single most important assurance that truth will set people free.

It may likely have a greater impact than weapons, in keeping our planet from wars.

Why? Because the truth will give people the power to make decisions that are right for them and their families.

A pygmy in New Guinea to teenagers in NOrth Korea, China and Iran can weigh in to a debate easily with only their cell phone.

In our country, the possibility of one man, with 400 million dollars , or our current MSM and our intelligence organizations influencing an election would be over, because people would hear the truth and vote accordingly.

The same thing would happen in other countries where people are oppressed.

Overnight, people will realize that they can change their own environment for the better.

Why migrate to America, where an America can exist in your own country, and maybe in a better form?

Musk owns Twitter, and people like Tucker Carlson broadcasting from that platform can change the world we live in for the better.

That assumes that here and around the world, there will also be free and unfettered elections.

Tucker’s 3 minute video yesterday had about 45 million views on Twitter and youtube

already 15X more than his nightly show on Fox

Yes, on-line is the place for him.

Remember “the platform” is Starlink as well as Twitter. Think future.

Musk will probably start a twitter podcast platform now that can be monitized with subscriptions, etc.

When you think about it, our Free Republic is like Twitter, but in a smaller arena.

All people, all over the world should be able to speak freely without being arrested and thrown in jail.

People like Elon Musk, Tucker Carlson, in many ways, are as brave as a Patrick Henry.

I’ll throw Donald Trump in there too, but the risk he’s taking is as great as the risk Christ himself took.

Last weekend Tucker talked about good and evil, where good prevails when the truth comes out.

Yes, he makes that very clear in this article.

It’s easy to see, that we may be at the beginning of a true revolutionary period whereby people all over the world are lifted to freedom, and the ability to experience the good life.

I left Fox News after the 2020 Election. I’ve drifted back, thanks to Tucker.

But I can see why they, Fox, decided to silence him and others.

Twitter bypasses the media corporation, telling us what we are going to hear just so they can sell advertising

It will be interesting to see how it all plays out for Tucker Carlson “on his own.”

That is definitely happening. My fear is that the people pulling the strings would rather destroy the world and try to start over than let the people govern themselves. That’s why they are keeping WWIII on the back burner.

Elon Musk made an offer to content creators they would keep 100% of the proceeds from any content they put on Twitter for the first year.

His show probably had a lot of staff, producers, researchers, writers etc. So there are some costs involved in his production - but he could scale it down to suit the platform. And overhead would be a lot lower than a TV production. In theory he could make more money with a smaller platform.

He already sort of has done that. He’s expanded the number of characters, and you can post videos. I don’t know if you can livestream yet. And, Musk has made a public offer to creators that they will keep 100% of the proceeds they generate for 1 year. (of course, Apple & Google will get a cut of subscription fees)
