Are you happy now, Libertarians?

*snip* ... What the Libertarian Party accomplished in 2020 was giving us government vaccine mandates, growing foreign entanglements in a regional European war, huge government deficits, and growing inflation. How did the Libertarian party accomplish this? In three states — Arizona, Georgia, and Wisconsin — the Libertarian vote total was 4.9, 5.3, and 1.9, respectively, times the Democrat margin in those states. *snip*

Had President Trump won those three states, he would have won 37 more electoral votes for a total of 269. Barring faithless electors, the Electoral College would have ended up tied at 269 electoral votes for each candidate, and the election would have gone to the House of Representatives. In this case each state delegation has 1 vote for a total of 50 votes. At the time, the GOP had a majority in 27 state delegations, the Democrats had a majority in 20 state delegations, and 3 state delegations were evenly split. Barring a collective decision to destroy their own party by a number of Republicans in Congress, President Trump would have been re-elected.

Blaming another party for your own party’s failures is not a path to success.

There are plenty of people here who are happier letting a Democrat win than voting for a RINO, or presumed RINO. I’m convinced that some of those are actually on our side, but I know that most aren’t.

The first thing one needs to understand about Libertarians is that they are more interested in attention than the messy process of actually governing.

They've been a ballot option for nearly half a century now and surely would've gotten at least some minor elective office somewhere in the country if they were actually interested in governing.

Most of us agree philosophically with what much of the Libertarian party preaches.

Want to cut off your wang and declare yourself a woman? Be my guest, but don't expect me to fly your flag, march in your parade, pay for your operation, get in the front of the line for a political appointment or all the other weird things your kind does.

Trump did win those states, and more.

Biden and the democrats stole this election.

Did you watch ‘2000 mule’? It is well documented vote fraud, with a summary that just the fraud they exposed in this movie would have own Trump the election.

And this is ignoring ANY OTHER obvious vote fraud they committed.

The Libertarian Party is not libertarian.

Libertarians are for less government, less laws, and more Liberty!!!

The so called libertarian Party does not seem to be for liberty but seems to be coveted by liberals.

GOP has to blame anyone but themselves! “Oh, oh...vote for ME - I’m just 1/2 as bad as them!” /snark

They are for dope, abortion, and gay (and whatever) “rights”.

They are libertines, not libertarians.

Having a runoff where 50% +1 is required would be good. Weeks after the entire nation has shot it’s wad the more-serious voters will show up. I don’t want to vote twice but it would give us a clearer idea who really won. Ranked choice is stupid.

You’re right I think. Does this person assume that the vote fraud machine could not overcome a few percentage points more? That happened to them in 2016. The margin for Trump overwhelmed the fraud machine and to their shock and surprise Trump won. So they fixed it! What emotional weakness it is to not see this? What naivete?

Exactly. I considered Gary Johnson in 2016 in part because Trump often portrayed himself as a big government Republican. (i.e. I'll get rid of Obamacare and replace it with something more beautiful.) Then Gary Johnson, the so-called small government candidate, came out in favor of more carbon taxes. That's the #1 reason I voted for Trump -- he was the only one on the general ballot against more carbon taxes.

I think it was Michael Medved who described libertarians as "losertarians"

That's rich, coming from a guy who was offended by the term 'RINO'.

Yes, but crediting another party for your own party's success is a path to success.

And that's exactly what the Democrats do as they thank libertarians.

Yup, absolutely not defending Medved. I once heard him give a glowing recount of what a nice person Hillary actually is/was. (Pretty sad that his best name drop was Hillary, as IIRC Medved was a classmate..)

People like to say the libertarian’s party doesn’t represent libertarians so they can never be pinned to a platform.

A libertarian likes to be able to shape his arguments for whichever audience he is trying to convince.

They put Patty Murray into office decades ago, and she has loved it ever since.

I looks like the libertarian patty is liberal while libertarians are for less government and more freedom. I guess I need to change to a liberty party. Libertarian party was taken over by liberals. I am waiting for someone to start the “American Party”. My platform is freedom of thought and speech. Less government is best. I will not be pinned to a liberal platform.
