In Chicago they’re called Kia Boys, and it’s all the rage among black kids in their early teens. I think there’s some sort of class action suit by Kia and Hyundai owners alleging that the manufacturers are responsible for making their cars so easy to steal. So easy even a 75-IQ black kid can do it!

My daughter has a Hyundai of that era. I put in two hidden kill switches so it can’t be started (no power to the ignition where the kids hack it).

Also bought her a club in hopes of avoiding a broken window and steering column.

We did get a recall notice that they will change the system to make it more difficult to hack, but I have no idea what the wait time is. (One can easily start the car using an ISB plug!)
