lol you can’t outlaw something because it is painted black!
LMAO
These bans are silly. No one can define what an assault weapon is. Furthermore, assuming an assault weapon is a firearm, it is unconstitutional to ban a firearm. Too bad the NRA is incapable of pointing this out to the anti-gun crowd.
A 9-0 vote.
I am always reminded of the first AW ban bill in California. They managed to get lever action rifles banned. So much opposition was made against the bill the lever action ban was removed, and the bill shelved.
I said “Look out! There will be a mass murder in California soon!” And there was.
The State released Pat Purdy from a mental institution, allowed him to violate state and federal laws on buying guns, even passing the waiting period.
He then went and shot up the Stockton school yard killing several students and himself.
The shelved bill was pulled out and passed before any opposition could be mounted against it.
Now watch the same for Colorado!

The Democrats did however pass four other "Gun Control" laws during the fracas of the hearings.
These were:
SB 23-1689 is the most expensive of these laws, and insidious in effect, as it allows victims of a gun-related crime to sue the gun and ammunition manufacturers and any firearms retailers who were in any way connected with the weapon used in the crime.
This does contradict federal laws, but the litigation will be expensive.
SB 23-169 makes it a misdemeanor and potential felony to allow a person under 21 years of age to purchase or possess a firearm. There are a number of obvious exceptions (military, police training academy, sanctioned competitions, etc.) but they are artfully worded with pitfalls and traps for the unwary.
HB 23-170 Expands the list of people who are allowed to file for "Red Flag" orders against a person who owns or is believed to possess firearms. The most important addition is that of medical professionals to the list of people who can request firearms confiscation.
HB 23-1219 is simple harassment for firearms purchasers. Might be a more serious problem for a woman being threatened by an angry ex if she needs a gun right now.
The Democrats absolutely never stop, regardless of opposition, or defeats. It would be heroic if we did the same.
