Manchin Slams Biden’s ‘Deficiency of Leadership,’ Praises McCarthy for Debt Ceiling Plan

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV), who is up for reelection in a red state, slammed President Joe Biden’s “deficiency of leadership” while praising House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) for proposing a debt ceiling plan.

“Our elected leaders must stop with the political games, work together and negotiate a compromise. Instead, it has been more than 78 days since President Biden last met with Speaker McCarthy,” Manchin said in a statement. “This signals a deficiency of leadership, and it must change.”

This comes as Biden refuses to meet with McCarthy about the debt ceiling. McCarthy and the Republican leadership on Wednesday unveiled the Limit, Save, Grow Act of 2023, which is legislation that would raise the debt ceiling while tackling America’s national deficit. The GOP’s proposal would raise the debt limit by $1.5 trillion and cut federal spending by $130 billion over the next year.

Manchin is up for reelection in 2024 in a state that Trump won by a huge margin in 2020 and 2016, he faces a real challenge to get reelected, he will sound a lot more moderate for the next 18 months or so until after 2024.

Look for John Tester from Montana to make similar noise in the near future.

OK children, this is how you do it. Our bill reads, 1) negate inflation reduction act ( which is doing the opposite)
2) release all Jan 6 prisoners
3) no dudes in women’s sports period, no high school, college, pro, etc.
4) no sex change, hormone blockers etc, under 18, period.
Pass the bill, go home, Noone talks to the press, congress does not return until Joe signs.
No way in haities the r hold house next year, so why not make history, they won’t cause McCarthy and the rest of them are delusional, even DeSantis thinks he can win, he won by his margin cause they let him landslide. No way in hell they will let Rs keep the house.
2022 was the most lopsided mid term in history that even with unfettered and unrestricted fraud they were still able to only lose 5 seats and control. 2022 made the 2020 steal child’s play.
Republicans should take a stand and make history before they check their balls at the door on their way out in 2024.
