I like the idea.

“Even if DeSantis won the nomination, knocking out Trump, you bet your azz a big portion of those 75 million will never forgive or vote for DeSantis. I’m one of them.”

Right. Your man didn’t win so just give the election to the Democrats. 12 year old thinking.

“Too bad DeSantis’ more ardent supporters here on FreeRepublic don’t follow your advice.

I notice you didn’t mention that.

Makes you kind of a hypocrite, doesn’t it?”

No. Defending yourself from cheap attacks is not the same as attacking. I do agree there is too much emotional flotsam and jetsam rather than rational thinking here.

The senate is not divided and can go either way.

McConnell wants the senate to be GOP minority. He works to get it into democrat control. He always has

The senate democrat seats were stolen in at least
Michigan - 2020
GA 2020
AZ 2020

2022:
Nevada, Arizona, PA

People think the cheating in the general was to keep Trump out. It wasn’t. Cheating happens in every level

“Why is a professed Republican incessantly attacking another Republican who hasn’t announced his candidacy? As usual, Trump is attacking Republicans so Democrats don’t have to.”
***

You’re exactly right, of course.
I stood on street corners for years with my local Tea Party holding Trump signs.
No more.
It’s still a free country and anyone who meets the requirements can run for president.
What we’re witnessing is desperation and fear.

This isn’t a usual primary. We are trying to get control of the party away from the party elders who are just glorified democrats, political scum. We need to stay united to do that. That’s why the party elders are backing DeSantis, because he splinters some of that vote.

100%. As further evidenced by lots of shrill and ad hominem attacks here. The cult of personality burns strong.

Yep.
He’s his own worst enemy as well as a great fighter who is right on a lot of issues. Frustrating

The only one who can beat Trump is Trump.

I know why. Trump has become a religion. They forget about how much money he wasted on the China flu. They forget about his inability to choose good people to surround himself. They ignore the fact that Warp Speed was a really stupid thing to do for big pharma. Its a religion.....no arguments are allowed.

I second that. It’s an interesting idea that should be explored. Maybe a nationwide vote wouldn’t be necessary. Focusing on having them in the fraud-prone swing states would likely be an easier task to accomplish. The Republican parties in those states could conceivably be involved in organizing it.

Don’t assume that other citizens pay as much attention to politics as Freepers do.

Don’t assume that other citizens get their news from anything other than MSM opinion pieces.

Other citizens pay attention when Trump says something that the MSM considers so outrageous that the MSM thinks they can use it against Trump so they report it.

A primary debate gives the MSM a hope to divide Republicans and so they cover it and that helps inform the citizenry.

You’re changing the subject

The poster said he thought the debates would inform viewers I disagreed

You’re saying :
“A primary debate gives the MSM a hope to divide Republicans and so they cover it and that helps inform the citizenry.”

that the MSM wants a debate not to inform the viewers but to divide

That’s true. Whoever is promoting DeSantis to turn on Trump is doing it to drive Trump out

People here love DeSantis even though he is not a proven advocate for us as Trump is

They’re either unthinking, too linear or trolls/plants

How can you say it's not divided when a single absence throws it into chaos? Look at what they're doing to Feinstein.

Is this worthy of a vanity? I would like to get other ideas. I think this would be a good site to vet a discussion.

It’s divided b/c of the cheat. The majority of this country want Trump and they want the congress and the USSC out of leftist hands.

Stolen election of 2020 sort of puts Trump in the still Numero uno, like he was robbed of his second term, status.

At least with the MAGA voters and those D’s and I’s that will write his name in if the Swamp R party plays the ‘Trump is done card’.

Go ahead.
Play the game..

We know what the Bush-Clinton-Bush-Obama era is like.
We know the R team produced Bush,Dole,Bush,McCain,Romney pre Trump.

It’s because of that era and the R party above, that Trump ran..

It’s where Make America Great Again came from.

Thank you R and D parties!

Why not? It seems worthy to me. If nothing constructive comes of it, at least you tried.
