“The plane blew up but the runways is fine.”

No it is not - the launch pad has only been tested once for 5 seconds- no one could be sure if it would withstand the full burn through a launch. It reached Max Q before failing anther huge milestone.

SpaceX tests to failure. Falcon had many “failures” until it was successful.

One major difference between this booster and later ones is that booster 7 (the one that we just saw launch) used hydraulic gimbaling, whereas booster 9 uses electric actuators.

I saw Elon Musk at one of the consoles, he didn’t look happy.
Our early space program was no different than this. If at first you don’t succeed…
They’ll get it right, eventually.

There were no humans on board, as I believe they thought it was a good chance of this happening...

When they’re ready to put a man in the can, we should not expect it to go boom.

Have they said when they’ll start manned flights?

Also, five of the first stage engines failed to fire. That is five of 33 and will certainly be studied.

passed handily

i.e., Successful demonstration of excessive g-forces exerted upon launch vehicle due to failure of programmed separation resulting in loss of both the reusable launch stage and Starship itself.

Yup. 'Passed handily'.

SpaceX's propaganda department holds enormous sway over both its cheering/smiling employees and obsequious cheerleaders. /s

"This is why they call them test flights. I'm sure they will try again and will eventually get it correct. "

Exactly. People here that are reacting like this was some sort of failure don't understand the process.

Well, no one died.

LOTS of people died.

None related to this launch, but lots of people died.

There is Samuel Parker in Elgin, GA. Cancer.

There is Susan Hayes, in Syracuse, NY. Congestive Heart Failure.

There are many others.

SpaceX tests to failure - that’s their operating plan. NASA just fails and asks fore more money.

N-1 exploded on the pad killing 60 stupid Russians sitting right next to it.

This wasn’t Challenger in 1986. This was equivalent to our first attempts to build big rockets.

At least we got to see how progress is being made . One successful portion to then improve on the second.

At least we see transparency from the private sector vs never a clue of something didn’t work as designed by the government

It's time to give up on the quest for space.

Rockets blew up. That means we will never ever reach the stars.
