Impact to the left side of the chest is the most common cause???

Holy Toledo. How often does impact to the left side of a chest happen in a football game??? With his risk factor, he’s taking a big chance.

Well, his choice to go back out there.

Doctors say he isn't at risk. It's just a very rare event that can happen if you are hit just right at a certain point in the cardiac rhythm, but very, very rarely occurs. Since every team has an MD and automated external defibrillator on the sideline, it is survivable. Without the AED, probably not.

It usually is at a specific site on the chest, and it has to occur during a certain time period during the repolarization of the ventricles of the heart...that’s why it doesn’t occur all the time...but in his case...hmmmm...Next time, he might not be so fortunate. I don’t know if they biopsied his heart muscle to look for any evidence of myocarditis...and did he get heart muscle damage that would really stress his heart during extreme athletic activity?
Sometimes, they clear money making athletes where they wouldn’t clear an amateur./.. wish him the best...

It has to be impact in a specific spot at just the right time in the cardiac cycle down to the thousandth of a second. It is akin to being hit by lightening. It or not just a simple blow to the chest.
