While ignoring a cornucopia of crises in his two-plus years as Secretary of Transportation, Pete Buttigieg has found a supposed crisis that he will address, and it sounds a lot like his previously trotted-out theory that bridges are a tool of racism.
Speaking with Al Sharpton on MSNBC, Buttigieg declared "we've got a crisis when it comes to roadway fatalities in America" before making his usual pivot to frame the problem as one of race.
"We lose about 40,000 people every year," Buttigieg told Sharpton, adding roadway fatalities are "a level that's comparable to gun violence" for emphasis. "And we see a lot of racial disparities," Buttigieg continued.
Specifically, according to Buttigieg, "black and brown Americans, tribal citizens, and rural residents" are "much more likely to lose their lives — whether it's in a car or a pedestrian being hit by a car."
Buttigieg argued that the racial disparity is "related to discrimination" and "even the ways roads are designed and built" such that minorities don't have "access to a safe street design that's got crosswalks and good lighting."
Here's Buttigieg's full meandering argument about how roads are supposedly designed to be racially discriminatory:

Sounds like Indianapolis once a week or so
Could have a point. If the road signs are printed really fast, some minority slow readers (move lips and sound out words) might have trouble reading them and cause accidents.
The only thing we could go after was his car insurance company. We did but the settlement was puny. The guy had very little. The detective assigned to the case was wonderful and spent a lot of time with my son and said his hands were tied thanks to DA Gascon. He was killed in CA. and we live in MA. Friends who are in law enforcement said he would not have walked in most other jurisdictions.
Are you effing kidding me!?

There is a clothing designer who lost her suitcase in an airport in 2018. She realized the airport was not to blame when she saw the luggage thief posting pictures of itself in her one of a kind designs on Twitter. She posted several pictures of him in her outfits and jewelry. To me, that dude personifies the Biden administration.
How about “thug crossing zone”?

There are fewer urban fatalities because it is more difficult to have a fatal accident in a traffic jam.
Rural Residents ...... yayyy I finally hit a list of downtrodden minorities......... where’s ma reparations?
This fool is really out of his depth, like Joe and his picks.
Well, if 2 + 2 doesn’t = 4, what is it supposed to = ?
In the country, there are no cross-walks, because there are fewer intersections. That is racist. Miles and miles of farmland are racist. Miles and miles of grazing land are racist./s
Straight out of Orwell/1984. It is whatever the Party says it is.
Oh for sure
Makes perfect sense 🙄🙄🙄

Now the Democrats have another stupid soundbite to roll with

The Democrats are all nuts, and they complain about Republicans. Members of the Administration shouldn’t be making ridiculous statements. The statements become facts. This supports another false narrative.
Is he a natural moron, or does he have to work at it?
That’s next on their agenda.
Bingo! I point that out to my wife every time we are on the interstate. it also applies to the BMA who decided to ignore the stop sign while driving a bank car with no insurance before crossing the highway and plowing into my drivers door. Fortunately an other BMA told him to hug this trap as the collision was his 100% fault.
Well he has a point. White lines on one side, yellow on the other, makes racist blacks so angry they can’t drive straight or drunk. All the speed signs are white. Stop signs red and white. They can’t read, so filled with hate.
