Oregon Senate Democrats disinvited economist and gun rights researcher John Lott from a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing based on criticism from anti-gun online publications.
Democratic State Sen. Floyd Prozanski “had read something from Media Matters attacking me and said I didn’t have the credentials to be an expert,” Lott told The Epoch Times.
Lott had been invited by Republican State Sen. John Linthicum to testify as an expert witness in an April 6 hearing on SB 348, which would increase the requirements of Ballot Measure 114, approved by voters in November 2022 but is now tied up in the courts.
Linthicum had asked Lott, who has extensive experience studying the effect of gun control laws on society, to explain how SB 348 would impact Oregonians. Lott said that, as he was on his way, he received a call from Linthicum telling him that Prozanski had decided not to allow Lott to testify.

It also shows the Democrats get their information from only leftist sources. Conservatives read articles from the left so we can attempt to learn what they are doing and what narrative they are pushing. That's the way we counter their arguments. The left will not even look at opposing viewpoints.
In other words, the left knows so much that is simply not true, but refuse to look at information that proves otherwise. Then, they call themselves well-informed.
Silencing the opposition is one of the primary goals of the leftturds.
Lott is one of the preeminent voices to be heard in the (baseless) debate over gun ‘rights’.
The left hates freedom.

I recall reading somewhere not long ago the observation that conservatives can not fully avoid leftist talk or discussion on issues of the day as the left very much dominates the media be it broadcast, print, or digital. And that the left can simply live fully within the world of NYT, NPR, CNN, ABC-Disney, etc and not at all have anything to do with conservative viewpoints.
