Any possibility that he could become Trump’s VP still and then run as President in 2028, where’d he be a shoe-in?

While DeSantis is still widely-hailed as an exceptionally-capable lawmaker...

British journalistic ignorance of our system. DeSantis is a chief executive, not a legislator.

“He has raised $110 million but it is not a guarantee of success as he has experienced a shaky star on the national stage”

CARBON COPY of Jeb at this point (exactly 8 years ago), almost to the dollar, and even the same state.

Ron is letting his political ego take over his common sense...his time will be 2028 - unless he totally screws the pooch this time around.

It’s almost as if the Democrats want Trump to be the nominee. I like DeSantis and think he will make an excellent President. Just not in 2024.

Has DeSantis formally declared his candidacy yet?

It's going to be hard for Trump to campaign from ADX Florence, a 21st Century St. Helena

The article is too short sighted. DeSantis should take, and may be taking, the longhaul approach of speaking nationwide and building up his record. As good as Trump is, he cannot be around forever.

The 2020 election was somewhat of a fluke because many states allowed rule changes without state congressional approval to the voting process due to COVID.

Ironically [yeah, right], many of those rule changes favored the Democrats.

More Dem states have adopted a ‘vote until we win’ policy by extending precinct closing times and even mail-in/drop-off dates. And there is ‘ballot harvesting’, which most never heard of until the 2020 election.

If similar arbitrary rule changes are allowed in 2024, the Dem will likely win.
