The optics are bad but I wish someone would post a definitive legal opinion on whether there is any here here.
Pointing out that dems do it too makes us feel good but we don’t live in a world where that matters. GOPers get puninshed, Dims don’t.

I heard legal analysts on FNC this morning saying that it's okay if it is from long-time friends who travel together. It's not a crime to have rich friends, and if the expenses are personal (not coming from a corporation) and are for normal vacation expenses (food, lodging, transportation), then they don't have to be reported.
It's not like Thomas got a diamond from a Chinese energy executive or millions of dollars from the Moscow Mayor's wife or something...
